Jesse W. Bush, 88, of Pecos, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at his residence.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, at First Christian Church in Pecos with Rev. Clark Ford officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 25, 1912, in Saragosa, was a lifelong Pecos resident, served in the Coast Guard during World War II, was a retired petroleum land man and a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, May Jarine Bush of Pecos; two daughters, Sharon St. Clair of Abilene, Gwen Geltemeyer of Midland; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Coy Miller

Coy Miller, 78, of Pecos, died Sunday, July 15, 2001, at the Pecos Nursing Home.

Graveside services were held at 4 p.m., Monday, at Greenwood Cemetery, with Rev. Gordon Cox officiating.

He was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Levelland, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a retired truck driver and a Baptist.

Survivors include two daughters, Virdie Liles of Monahans and Roxie Ham of Wolfford; two brothers, Clarence and Albert Miller of Artesia, N.M.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Marcelo Aranda Carrasco, 78, of Van Horn, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Reeves County Hospital.

Services were held at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Van Horn, with burial in Van Horn Cemetery.

He was born April 28, 1923, in Chihuahua, Mexico, was a rancher and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Manuela Carrasco of Van Horn; one son, David Carrasco of Van Horn; six daughters, Herminia Muela of Presidio, Graciela Cordoway of Castroville, Tx., Manuela Lujan of Van Horn, Vicky Sanchez of Kaufman, Yolanda Tarango of Pecos and Chaya Elizondo of Midland; one brother, Juan Carrasco of Fort Stockton; three sisters, Vicky Fuentes, Josefa Venegas of Van Horn, Belen Molina of Van Horn; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Lucio Florez, Sr.

Lucio Florez, Sr., 50, of Barstow, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, in Barstow.

A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., today at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass is scheduled for 4 p.m., Friday, July 13, at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, with Father Manuel Munoz officiating. Burial will be in Barstow Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 15, 1950, was a measurement technician for Sid Richardson Carbon and Energy Co., a lifelong Barstow resident and a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Elia Florez of Barstow; two sons, Lucius Florez of Dallas and Lucio Florez, Jr. of Barstow; three daughters, Monique Florez of Dallas, April Florez of Midland and Corina Florez of Barstow; his mother, Victorina Florez of Barstow; four brothers, Julian Florez of Barstow, Ralph and Margarito Florez of Pecos and Angel Florez of Odessa; four sisters, Emma Lozano, Elva Contreras and Marianna Baeza of Pecos and Estella Granado of Oak Ridge, Tenn. and five grandchildren.

Eduvigen Rodriguez

Eduvigen L. Rodriguez, 80, of Pecos, died Sunday, July 8, 2001.

A rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., today, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Manuel Munoz officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Valentine, was a homemaker, a longtime Pecos resident and a Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vicente Rodriguez, Sr. and one son, Leo Rodriguez.

Survivors include five sons, Vicente Rodriguez, Jr. and Tony Rodriguez of Pecos, Ramon and Henry Rodriguez of Albuquerque, N.M., Joe Rodriguez of Odessa; four daughters, Virginia Rodriguez and Katy Barrera of Pecos, Lupe Baeza of California, Pauline Sharon of Iowa; one brother, Tomas Lopez of Van Horn; one sister, Petra Gavaldon of Pecos; 51 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Jody Branch

Jody Earl Freeman Branch, 42, of Carlsbad, N.M., died Tuesday, June 26, 20001, at Columbia Medical Center in Carlsbad, N.M.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today with Rev. Lloyd Conner officiating at Fairview Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 16, 1958, in Pecos, was a lifelong resident and a Baptist.

Survivors include his mother Billie Jo Freeman Gille of Marfa; his father, Joe Franklin Branch of Porter; two sisters, Krystal Kay Branch Williams of Houston, Penny Branch of Arkansas and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mike Oglesby

Mike John Oglesby, 46, of Ozona, died Saturday, June 30, 2001.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., today at the Oglesby Ranch.

He was born Feb. 3, 1955, to Maxine and Bill Oglesby in Pecos. He married Sally Bailey on Oct. 13, 1979, was employed by J.L. Davis and ranched with his family in Crockett County. He was a leader in 4-H Shooting Sports and was his children's number one fan. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing and music.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Bailey Oglesby, one son, John Quay, one daughter, Mary Taylor Morgan Oglesby all of Ozona; his parents, Maxine and Bill Oglesby of Pecos; one brother and his wife, Bill and Karen Oglesby and their children, Will and Matthew of Pecos; brother-in-law Lance Evans of San Angelo and his daughter, Blythe Evans of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Nannette Bailey Thompson of Mission and her children, Cori Jo Gerlack and husband Brian Gerlack, their children, Kaylee Jo, Weston and Mackenzie of Mission and Amanda Thompson of College Station; brother-in-law, Jim Bob Bailey of Ozona and his children, Tres Bailey of College Station and Sunny Jo Bailey of San Angelo.

Oglesby was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Sonny and Jeannette Bailey, his sister Mary Oglesby Evans, and his brother-in-law Bill Thompson.

Pallbearers are Cuatro Davidson, Steve Prewit, Ron Coody, Paul Armstrong, Will Fernandes, Mike Glover, David Wilson, Billy Wayne Stroud, Kevin Duke, Paul Prewit, Mike Prewit and Ken Stokes.

Honorary pallbearers are C.E. Davidson, III, Matt Burkholder, Larry Walker, J.L. Davis, T.R. Ezell and Penn Baggett.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the National Rifle Association or a favorite charity.

Julia Acosta

Julia Navarette Acosta, 73, of Oklahoma City, Okla., died Thursday, June 21, 2001.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m., Saturday, June 23, at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow with burial in the Barstow Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 7, 1928, in Barstow, was a homemaker and a Catholic.

Survivors include her husband, Anastacio Acosta of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five sons, Raymond, Mario, Raul, Robert and Arthur Acosta; five daughters, Cruz, Josephine, Anita and Gloria Acosta and Delma Esquivel; two brothers, Emilio Navarette of Odessa and Calistro Navarette of Barstow; six sisters, Margarita G. Navarette of El Paso, Elisa Trevino and Magdalena Sanchez of Oklahoma City, Okla., Ramona Chance and Modesta Hinojos of Odessa and Elia Garcia of Pecos; 43 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Becky Allen

Becky Lynn Allen, 49, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 23, at First United Methodist Church in Snyder.

She was born in Graham on June 10, 1952, was a secretary for Compressor Services Company and a Methodist.

Survivors include her parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Atkinson; two daughters, Kari Kirkland of Amarillo, Shelley Allen of Denton; one sister, Pam Biersdorfer of Odessa; two nieces and one nephew.

Margaret Money

Margaret Money, 63, of West, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, at Elm Mott Church of Christ with ministers Sam Armstrong and Wayne Wells officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, at Barstow Cemetery.

She was born on June 20, 1937, in Fort Stockton, graduated from Barstow High School in 1955, worked as a secretary for various schools, including Gholson and Penelope, and was a member of the Elm Mott Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Thomas and Dessie Riley; one brother, Tommy Riley; one sister, Helen Humphreys; and two infant daughters, Sandra Gwen Money and Pamela Kay Money.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Money of West; two daughters, Roxanne Balusek of Round Rock, Darla Braun of Allen; one son, Tim Money of Lewisville; two sisters, Mary Greenwood and Mae Vann, and five grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Elm Mott Church of Christ or West Ambulance.

Ysidro Zermeno, Jr., 47, of Pecos, died Monday, June 18, 2001, at  Reeves County Hospital.

Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, June 21, at Santa Rosa  Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
Zermeno was born May 24, 1954, in Pecos, was a lifelong resident,  a seismograph employee and a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his father Ysidro Zermeno Sr. and  two sisters, Celia Delgado and Micaela Corrales.
Survivors include his mother, Petra Zermeno of Pecos; two brothers,  Mario Zermeno of Corpus Christi and George Zermeno of Barstow; one  sister, Erminia Zermeno of Pecos and several nieces and nephews.

David Hernandez

David Gonzales Hernandez, Jr., 21, of Odessa, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001.

A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m., today at the Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, at St. Agnes Church in Fort Stockton with Father David Herrera officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.

He was born May 19, 1979, in Fort Stockton, was a lifelong Fort Stockton resident, a floor hand in the oilfield business and a Catholic.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Hernandez, Sr. and one nephew, Ruben Olveta and his wife, Esmi of Snyder.

Survivors include his wife, Celina Hernandez of Odessa; his mother, Martha G. Rodriguez of Fort Stockton; his step-father, Juan Rodriguez of Fort Stockton; three children, Deanna Rivas and Juan and Aaron Corrales of Odessa; one brother, Johnny Dominguez of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Teri Hernandez Freeman of Clemmons, N.C. and Becky Dominguez of Japan; and his grandparents, Raymond and Santa Gonzales of Fort Stockton.

Beverly Lindemann, 57, of Pecos, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

Services were held at 10 a.m., today, at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Wilson Soko officiating. Burial was in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Lindemann of Pecos; two sons, Jeff Lindemann and David Kington of Pecos; two daughters, Darla Blackstock and Debbie Terrel of Pecos; one brother, Roy Prewit of Pecos; one sister, Barbara Bradley of Fort Stockton; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services for Ysidro Zermeno, Jr., 47, who died today at Reeves County Hospital are incomplete.

Retta Bishop

Retta L. Bishop, 101, of Menard, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 14, at Heritage Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Tompkins, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Menard.

She was born April 24, 1900, in Eastland, moved to Menard in 1903 coming from Romney, Tx., was a member of First Baptist Church and was a 50-year member of Summerland Chapter OES of Menard.

Bishop was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bishop; one daughter, Edna White; three grandchildren; 10 brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Selma Carrell of Pecos, Margaret Haines of Menard and Marie Hines of Clyde; two sisters, Naomi Etheredge of Lamesa, Katie Cox of Victoria; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane Fuentez

Mary Jane Fuentez, 52, of Pecos, Texas died Thursday, June 7 at a family residence in Midland. She was born to Gilbert and Natividad Dominguez on May 29, 1949 in Pecos, Texas where she was reared and educated. She worked in agriculture and farming and later became self-employed. She married Julian M. Fuentez, Jr. in 1997. Mrs. Fuentez enjoyed her grandchildren and fishing at Balmorhea Lake. She was a member of Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos. At Mrs. Fuentez's request no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Reyes-Garcia Funeral Home.

Her parents Gilbert and Natividad, grandmother Natividad Dominguez and uncle Mel Dominguez precede her in death.

Survivors include: spouse, Julian M. Fuentez Jr., of Pecos; sons, Gilbert Cook of Midland, Joe Cook of Garden City, Kansas, Gabriel M. Cook of Odessa, Frank Cook of Morton, Texas and Edward Cook of Germany; sisters, Naomi Rojo of Carlsbad, NM, Rosie Dominguez of Pecos, Annie Cordero, Lupe Carrasco, Elvia Natividad of Midland, Netti Molinar, Bertha Villarreal of Pecos and Gilberta Dominguez; 12 grandchildren, 1 uncle and numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.

Carlota M. Diaz

Carlota M. Diaz of Pecos, Texas died Friday June 8, 2001.Diaz was 102 years old and born in Barstow on June 11, 1899.

A Rosary was held on Saturday evening and services were scheduled for today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Barstow Cemetery.

Five sons and one daughter preceded Diaz in death.

Survivors include two sons: Raymundo "Tata" Martinez, and Manuel M. Diaz, of Pecos, 33 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Pablo Matta

Pablo Machuca Matta, 62, of Pecos, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, in El Paso.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m., today, at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass is scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church, burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Services will be officiated by his son, Father Pablo E. Matta.

He was born June 8, 1938, in Barstow, was a lifelong resident of Pecos. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, a Curstillista and a Catholic.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Antonio E. Matta and Samuel E. Matta; his parents, Juan and Epimenia Matta; one sister, Cruz Pisana and one brother, Manuel Garcia.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years of marriage, Juanita E. Matta of Pecos; his son and daughter-in-law Tomas and Elodia Matta; his daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Hugo Rodriguez of Pecos; his son, Father Pablo E. Matta of El Paso, St. Patrick Cathedral; his son and daughter-in-law, Jaime and Lourdes Matta of El Paso.

Survivors also include his grandchildren, Leslie, Hugo Jr., Pablo and Pedro Rodriguez of Pecos; Sabrina R. Matta of Arizona; Hope Marie Matta of El Paso; Michael, John and Mark Parkin of San Angelo and one great-grandchild, Alejandro Caraballo of Arizona.

He was born June 8, 1938, in Barstow, and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, a Cursillista and a Catholic.

Peggy Laird Ailes, 67, long-time resident of Midland, died Thursday, May 31, 2001.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., at Resthaven Memorial in Midland, on Wednesday, June 6.

She was born Dec. 29, 1944, in Pecos.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marian and Laird Ailes; her grandparents, Lula and A.G. Van Horn and her only aunt and uncle, Louise and Gage Van Horn, Jr.

Survivors include two cousins.

Refugio Chavez

Refugio "Cuco" Chavez, 65, of Pecos, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at his residence.

A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., today at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, June 2, at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow with Deacon George Vasquez officiating. Burial will be in Barstow Cemetery.

Chavez was born July 4, 1935, in Candelaria, Tx., was a retired laborer, and a Catholic.

Survivors include his mother, Manuela Chavez of Pecos; and six sisters, Esperanza Abila of Barstow, Yolanda Gonzales and Maria Juarez of Pecos, Eustolia Martinez of Chicago, Ill., Hortencia Jimenez of Laredo and Eva Porras of Ozona.

Ima Lee Robinson, 91, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, May 30, 2001, in a Big Spring nursing home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., on Friday, June 1, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Ken McMeans and Rev. Bob Manning officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.

She was born on August 17, 1909 in Pecos and married T.M. Robinson on April 1, 1930 in Lovington, N.M. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1983.

She formerly lived in the Knott Community and at the time of her death was a member of College Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, four brothers and one granddaughter.

Survivors include one son, Lloyd Robinson of Knott; four daughters, Wanda Lee Roman of Big Spring, Carol Strong of Salado, Joyce Parker of Ackerly and Martha Sparks of Magnolia; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Ismael V. Rodriguez, 52, of Balmorhea, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at his residence.

Viewing will be held today and tomorrow at the Church of Christ in Balmorhea.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, May 26, at the Church of Christ in Balmorhea with burial in the Saragosa Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 21, 1948, in Saragosa, was a lifetime resident, had been the Mayor of Balmorhea since 1998 and a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Rosa Vasquez Rodriguez; two sisters, Olivia Contreras and Irma R. Garza and one brother, Jose Rodriguez.

Survivors include his wife, Rosaemma V. Rodriguez of Balmorhea; four sons, Osvaldo Rodriguez of Indio, Calif., Miguel, Efrain and Ismael Rodriguez, Jr. of Balmorhea; one daughter, Roxann Rodriguez of Balmorhea; two brothers, Fermin Rodriguez of Balmorhea, Jaime Rodriguez of Odessa; one sister, Norma Rodriguez of Balmorhea and one grandchild.

Alfred Pax

Alfred Walter Pax, 79, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Forrest Ridge Nursing Center.

Services were held May 7, at Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Townsend officiating. Burial was in Live Oak Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Concho County, Tx., retired from Pecos Valley Southern Railroad Company where he was a transport driver for 24 years. After his retirement they moved to their farm in Hamilton County and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Drake; three sisters, Eva Mae Schulz of McGirk, Frances Stanford of Evant, Ruth Adams of Crowley; a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Hector Chavez

Hector Munoz Chavez, 41, of Pecos, died Monday, May 14, 2001, in Austin.

Loy Albert Wells, 74, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Odessa Medical Center Hospital. He willed his body to Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, and memorial services are planned for a later date.

He was born May 22, 1927, and moved to Pecos in 1977 from Fort Stockton. He was a retired motel manager.

Rogers was born on March 29, 1919 in Wichita Falls. He came to Pecos in December of 1944 with the Western Division of the U.S. Army Corps. He graduated and received his commission as a pilot and a 2nd Lieutenant in 1944. He stayed on in Pecos as a flying instructor until the base closed. After the war, he was separated from the service as a 1st Lieutenant. He settled in Pecos with his wife in 1945. He never completely retired as a successful building contractor, as he loved his work.

Rogers held three advanced licenses: a Master's plumbing; a Master's electrician and residential refrigeration. He had many interests and hobbies _ golf, baseball and boating. He was a member of the Pecos Men's Golf Association and the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Elizabeth Rogers of Pecos; two daughters, Barbara Ann R. Lasater of Plano, Rebecca Nell R. Patterson of Pecos; one sister, Betty R. Scalice of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, Kellye Lasater Bos, Aaron Lasater, Amanda Stickels and Jack Stickels.

Alfonso Granado

Memorial services for Alfonso M. Granado are scheduled for 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos. Arrangements are under the direction of Pipkin Funeral Home.

Alfonso was born March 5, 1929 to Jose and Ana Granado in Pecos, Texas. He worked construction for Armstrong and Co. prior to his death. Mr. Granado passed away Friday, April 20, 2001 at his residence. His parents, two brothers, and one sister preceded him in death.

He is survived by four sisters, Ofelia Esquivel and Josie Patton of Midland, Mary Falcon of Houston, Texas and Dora Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas; four brothers, Mario Granado of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; Eriberto Granado of Pecos, Texas; Arthur Granado of Woodland Hills, Calif.; and Ramon Granado of El Monte, Calif; and several nieces and nephews.

He served from 1952-1954 in the Korean Conflict, as a PFC. He then served eight years in the Army Reserve. He earned the Korean Service Medal W/2 Camp Stars; National Defense Service Medal; UN Service Medal; and ROK President Unit Citation.

Edna Cook

Edna Cook, 91, of Big Spring, formerly of Balmorhea, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at a Big Spring nursing home.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., on Friday, April 20, 2001 at the First Baptist Church in Balmorhea with Rev. Rick Moon of Toyahvale officiating.

Burial followed at Balmorhea Cemetery.

She was born on December 21, 1909, in Pontotoc, Mississippi to William Henry Haney and Fannie Cordelia Selman Haney. Her parents were pioneer Big Spring farmers coming to the area from Johnson County in 1925 when she was 16 years old. Edna accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior when she was 12 years old. At that time the family lived at Lillian. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Balmorhea.

She married Marvin Otto Cook on February 16, 1929 at the East Fourth Street Baptist Church in Big Spring after a Valentine Party. They lived in the Howard-Borden County area where he worked on ranches in the 1930s. They moved to the Reeves County area in the early 1940s. They lived in Balmorhea and raised their family there. In the late 1970s, they returned to Big Spring.

Besides participating in her husband's activities of farming, ranching, and trail riding, and being involved with her family, Edna was an avid flower and vegetable gardener; she enjoyed bottle collecting and rock hunting. When Edna was 73, her interest in painting was brought to fruition by attending classes at the Spring City Senior Citizens Center. Her numerous paintings covered a variety of subjects and in 1984, five years after she started painting, she won a first place at the Howard County Fair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ott Cook; one son Otto Canon Cook; one daughter Fannie Wanda Stanley; two sons-in-law James R. Stanely and Billy W. Bryant; one granddaughter-in-law Mona Cook; one great-grandson Jason De Ax; four brothers Johnny Haney, Sam Haney, Myrle Haney and R.E. Haney; and four sisters; Vio Haney, Anna Haney, Thelma White and Ivy Summers.

Survivors include two sons; Pecos Cook and his wife, Elizabeth of Balmorhea, Jack D. Cook and his wife, Sherry of Odessa; four daughters, Juanita Rogers and her husband, John of Lubbock, Dolly Bryant of Big Spring, Vera Martin and her husband Benny of Big Spring, Maggie Linda Armstead and her husband Charles of Levelland; one brother, Edward Haney of Carlsbad, NM; two sisters Opal Barber and Vera Peterson both of Big Spring; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruby Cunningham

Ruby Johnson Cunningham went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 18, 2001 in Odessa.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.R. Wooten officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

She was born Oct. 23, 1914, in Addis Louisiana to Bennie and Millie Gorum Cleveland.

Bennie Cleveland worked for the T&P Railroad, and they lived one mile from the Mississippi River. In 1972, they fled their home to escape the raging river, threatening to break their levees. The family and all their belongings rode the train west to Toyah, where they settled permanently in September 1928. Ruby lived in Toyah until 1997, when she moved to Midland to be near her son.

She was a homemaker, a bookkeeper, and worked for the school in Toyah. She loved to travel with her family. She was a devout Christian, and a friend to all.

She was known as Granny Ruby to many children, and later, to their children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Oley Cleveland, Buford G. Cleveland and Bennie Cleveland and one sister, Louise Puryear. Also preceding her is her husband Garland Johnson who died in 1960, and her second husband, B.A. "Ab" Cunningham who died in 1984.

She is survived by her son B.G. Johnson and wife Lynda of Midland, her brother, James H. Jack M. Rodriguez, 67, of Balmorhea, died Monday, April 16, 2001, in Minnetonka, Minn.

A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m., Friday, April 20, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea.

Mass will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 21, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea.

He was born April 23, 1933, in Ft. Davis, was disabled and a Catholic.

Survivors include his parents, Ismael Rodriguez and Chana Rodriguez of Balmorhea; two sons, Jack Jr. and Richard Rodriguez of Minnesota; five daughters, Vivian Rodriguez of San Angelo, Cindy Mullen of Albuquerque, N.M., Velma Rodriguez Blaisedell of Bloomington, Minn., Nelda Rodriguez of Abilene, Nancy Martinez of Dallas; three brothers, Ruben Rodriguez of Columbus, Ga., Ismael Rodriguez, Jr. of Fort Stockton, Jonell Rodriguez of Fort Davis; three sisters, Nina Carrasco of Balmorhea, Anna Garcia of Fort Stockton, Eva Gomez of Fullerton, Calif. and eight grandchildren.

Auda Bradford, 47, of Pecos, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., on April 17 at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Terry officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
He was born on January 3, 1954 in Pecos, and Army Veteran and a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Eugene Smith of Kansas; his mother, Unafaye Collins Terry of Pecos; his father, A.B. Bradford of Denver, Colo.; stepfather Larry Terry of Pecos; one sister Rosa Anita Collins of Temple; one brother, Willie Collins of Pecos; his grandfather, Eddie Walker of Pecos; numerous nieces and nephews.
