John Jackson

John Jackson, 59, of Pecos, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Reeves County Hospital.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 15, at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. L.H. Woodard officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Pecos.

He was born Jan. 3, 1943, in San Antonio, was a customer service manager for TNP-First Choice Power Co., an Air Force Veteran and a Christian.

Survivors include his wife, Diann Jackson of Pecos; one son, John "Delaney" Jackson of Joelton, Tenn.; his mother Pauline Jackson of Junction, Tx.; one sister, Kittie Conner of Harper and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harvey Schoen

Harvey Herold Henry Schoen, 77, of Taylor, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at the Christopher House in Austin.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Best officiating. Burial will be in Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.

He was born Feb. 20, 1924 in Dessau, Tx., served in the Navy during WWII as a Radar Technician, was a game warden for 37 years, a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of West Taylor, the VFW, and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Schoen of Taylor; one daughter, Susann Cunningham and two grandchildren.

Christopher Cook

Christopher Cook, 20, of Balmorhea, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, in a traffic accident on Highway 17.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m., today, at the First Baptist Church in Balmorhea with Rev. L.H. Woodard officiating. Burial was in the Balmorhea Cemetery.

He was born July 12, 1981, was a sales person for Kelly Grimsley, a lifelong Balmorhea resident and a Baptist.

Survivors include his father, Cannon Cook of Balmorhea; one brother, Chance Cook of Balmorhea; one sister, Amber Cook of Balmorhea; paternal grandparents, Pecos and Liz Cook of Balmorhea; maternal grandparents, John and JoCeal Reddell of Graham and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the C.T. Gary Scholarship at the Balmorhea School District or a favorite charity.

Pedro Alarcon, 90, of Barstow, died on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002 at the Hospice House in Odessa.

Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., tonight at Our Lady of Refuge Church in Barstow.

Mass is scheduled for 2 p.m., tomorrow at Our Lady of Refuge Church with burial following at Barstow Cemetery.

He was born on Oct. 23, 1911, in Barstow where he was a lifetime resident and a Catholic.

Survivors include his children Antonio Alarcon and Matilde Caballero, both of Kermit; one brother Abram Uriquidi of Kermit; five sisters, Andrea Alarcon of Odessa, Tomasa Alarcon of Jimenez, Chih. Mexico, Eulalia Guiterrez of Delicias, Chih. Mexico, Maria Felix Payen of Johnson City, Kansas, Natividad Renteria of Ojinaga, Chih. Mexico; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Jose E. Bustillos, 83, of Barstow, died on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 in Ojinaga, Mexico.

Rosary was held at 7 a.m., on Sunday, Feb. 10 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow.

Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m., today at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church with Father Manuel Munoz officiating. Burial will follow in Barstow Cemetery.

He was born on Oct. 1, 1918 in Redford, TX, was retired and a Catholic.

Survivors include three sons Miguel Bustillos of Midland, Juan Bustillos of Ojinaga, Mexico and Roberto Castillo of Dallas; one daughter Juanita Galindo of Barstow; one sister Victorina Florez of Pecos; one brother Elijio Bustillos of Odessa; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Christopher Cook, 20, of Balmorhea died on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002.

Henry W. "Togo" Jones

Henry W. "Togo" Jones, 81, of San Angelo, died on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002 in Baptist Memorial Center in San Angelo.

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 12 in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rey Carreon and Rev. James Sain officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1920 in Balmorhea and was a long time resident of Pecos before moving to San Angelo two years ago.

He was a retired finance officer, a U.S. Navy veteran and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn of San Angelo; one daughter Vivian Perry of San Angelo; one son Dickie Jones of San Angelo; one brother George Jones of Alpine; one sister JoAnn Cockrell of Tom Bean, TX.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ynes L. Nieves, 87, of Pecos, died on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 at Reeves County Hospital.

Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m., tomorrow at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Ben Florez officiating. Burial will follow in Toyah Catholic Cemetery.

He was born on April 20, 1914 in Candelaria, TX. He was a lifetime resident of Pecos, a retired custodian and a Catholic.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald Wayne "Babe" Phillips

Donald Wayne "Babe" Phillips, 66, died on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., today at Floral Heights United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls with Dr. Burt Palmer and Glynn Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1935 in Wichita Falls and was a retired coach. He coached in numerous places including in Balmorhea from 1958 to 1962.

Survivors include three brothers Ronald Gene Phillips of Coldspring, TX, John Troy Phillips of Wichita Falls and Jerry G. Phillips of Archer City; one sister Bonnie Sue Strain of Abilene and numerous nieces and nephews.

Benito Ramos Salcido

Benito Ramos Salcido, 61, passed from the arms of Hospice House in Odessa to the wonderful light of heaven on Feb. 8, 2002 at 1:20 p.m.

Benito Salcido was born April 22, 1940, in Balmorhea, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Canuto and Josephina Salcido and sister Maria Salcido and two brothers, Canuto Jr., and Guadalupe Salcido.

Survivors include his three sons, Ruben Salcido and his wife, Lisa D. Salcido of Pecos, Randy Salcido of Pecos, and Rodney Salcido of Odessa; six grandchildren, Jason Salcido of San Antonio, Philip and Eric Salcido of Pecos, Rossalynn Marie Zackery and Roderick Salcido of Odessa.

Mr. Salcido comes from a family of 10, survived by three brothers, Manuel R. Salcido, Juan Salcido, of Pecos and Juanito Ornelas of Odessa; three sisters, Licha S. Dutchover of Balmorhea, Margarita S. Rodriguez and Connie (Chelo) Orona of Odessa. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002 at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel in Pecos.

Janis G. Morehead, 61, of Pecos, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at First Christian Church.

She was born March 20, 1941, in Pecos, was a homemaker, a lifelong Pecos resident and a member of First Christian Church.

Loy A. Wells

Graveside services for Loy Albert Wells are set for 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chaparral Village Cemetery in Ward County. The Rev. Refugio Carreon, pastor of West Park Baptist Church, will officiate.

Mr. Wells died May 17, 2001 in Odessa Medical Center, and his body was donated to the Texas Tech University Science Center. The remains were cremated.

He was born May 22, 1926 in Brady and was a longtime Pecos resident.

Survivors include his widow, Ruth Wells of Alpine; one step-daughter, Barbara Bunch of Florida; one step-son, Ronald Kesler of Humble; one step-grandaughter, Carey Herrera of Austin; and two great-grandchildren.

Nicolas Gonzales Jr.

Nicolas M. Gonzales Jr., of Barstow, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, in Odessa.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m., today, at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow.

Nicholas M. Gonzales, Jr., 38, of Odessa, formerly of Barstow, died on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 at his residence.

Richard Jacquez, Sr.


Richard Jacquez, Sr., 64, of Pyote, died on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

Rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m., today at Harkey Funeral Home in Monahans.

Mass will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at St. John Catholic Church with Father John Lucido officiating. Burial will follow at Pyote Cemetery.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1937 in El Carrizo Chihuahua, Mexico and moved to Pyote from Pecos in 1976.

He was a truck driver and a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife Guadalue Jacquez, of Pyote; three sons, Richard Jacquez, Jr., Henry Jacquez, both of Pyote and Teofilo Jacquez, of Wink; four daughters, Anna Ortega, of Pyote, Martha McCall, of Longview, Kelly Metcalf and Theresa Herrera, both of Pecos; and 12 grandchildren.

Bobbie Hicks

Bobbie Nell Rogers Hicks, died recently, and services were held in the First Baptist Church.

She was born March 12, 1942, to the late Reverend John L. Roger Sr. and Marie Davis Rogers in Silsbee, Tx. She was baptized by the late Rev. G.W. Johnson, who was then the Pastor of the Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved to Pecos and became a member of the St. James Baptist Church. She attended Waldo Mathew High School and continued her education in Tucson, Ariz., achieving her goal in Practical Nursing. During her nursing career, she worked in Health Care Centers, hospitals and nursing homes in Tucson, Ariz., Roswell, N.M. and Pecos. She lived in Pecos over 30 years and was active with the Civil Air Patrol in Pecos.

Survivors include two sons, Sam M. Hudson, Jr. and Douglas Hicks of Hull; one brother, John L. Rogers, Jr.; one sister, Freddie Rogers Bobb of Beaumont; two grandchildren; one uncle and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Jessie Halfmann

Jessie Belle Halfmann, 101, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, in Ballinger.

Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 28, in Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger with the Rev. Felipe Villareal, Jr. officiating.

She was born Nov. 3, 1900, in San Saba County.

Halfmann was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Halfmann in 1963.

Survivors include four sons, Eugene Halfmann, Lawrence Halfmann of San Angelo, Billy Lowe of Ballinger and Donald Clubb of El Paso; two daughters, Linda Bailey of Ballinger, Annie Pearl Cook of Pecos; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Reba Coffee

Reba S. Price Coffee, 88, of Bangs, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the First Baptist Church in Bangs with Rev. Lee Evans officiating. Burial will be in the Bangs Cemetery.

She was born in Brown County, Tx., lived in the Jones Chapel Community until her marriage, was a homemaker, a member of the McDaniel Home Demonstration Club, a Baptist and a member of First Baptist Church in Bangs. She had been a resident of Bangs since 1934.

Coffee was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Francis Coffee and two brothers, Wilson and Jasper Price.

Survivors include three daughters, Margie Lee Millsapps of Pecos, Jean Anne Rutherford of Mullin, Lillie "Lill" Howard Hair of Brownwood; one sister, Lee Ellen Price of Brownwood; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Alicia A. Rodriguez, 56, of Pecos, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Mass was held at 11 a.m., today, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Ben Flores officiating. Burial was in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 21, 1945, in Grandfalls, was a homemaker and a Catholic.

Rodriguez was preceded in death by her father, Cruz Acosta in 1974.

Survivors include her husband, Efren Rodriguez of Pecos; one daughter, Joanne Rodriguez of San Antonio; her mother, Maria A. Chavez of Pecos; two brothers, Luis and David Acosta of Pecos; three sisters, Angelina Sanchez of Monahans, Valentina Whitmore of Las Vegas, Nev. and Cruzita Acosta of Pecos.

May Jarine Bush, 91, of Pecos, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002 at her residence.

She was born May 1, 1910, in Graford, was a lifelong Pecos resident, a retired businesswoman and a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon B. St. Clair of Abilene, Gwen Geltemeyer of Midland; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Timotea Hernandez, 91, of Balmorhea died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, in Balmorhea.

Mass will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 26, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea with Father Miguel Angel Sanchez officiating. Burial will be in Balmorhea Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 10, 1910, in Toyahvale, Tx., was a lifetime resident, a homemaker and a Catholic.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Alicia Galindo.

Survivors include three sons, Alberto and Luis Hernandez of Balmorhea, Rudy Hernandez of Barstow; four daughters, Virginia Vasquez of Balmorhea, Marianna Minjarez and Cruzita Pacheco of Pecos, Cirilda Lira of Barstow; 26 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.

Estela Cadena

Estela Valenzuela Cadena, 36, of Midland, native of Alpine, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, in an Odessa clinic, where she was employed.

A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Our Lady of Peace Church in Alpine.

Mass is scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the church with burial in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Cadena was born Nov. 17, 1965, in Alpine and graduated from Alpine High School in 1983. After leaving Alpine in 1985, she lived in Pecos, Odessa and Midland, where she had lived for the past eight years. She was office manager for Drug Screen Compliance and Consortium of the Southwest. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church in Alpine.

Survivors include her parents, John Joe and Beatriz Cadena of Alpine; three daughters, Candes Joyce Ramon of Midland, Cassandra Desiree Ramon of Odessa and Clarinda Alaina Ramon of Midland; one son, Joe Albert Ramon Jr. of Odessa; six sisters, Blanca Martinez of Del Rio, Anabelle Sanchez of Midland, Olga Quiroz of Arlington, Diana Chavez of Odessa, Gracie Cadena of Odessa, Lorena Delgado of Chihuahua; two brothers, Larry Cadena of Alpine, John Joe Cadena of Lubbock; one grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jesus Porras Gomez, 86, of Odessa, died Jan. 19, 2002, at Hospice House.

He was born Nov. 11, 1915, in San Jose, Tx. and was a Catholic.

Gomez was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Gomez; one son, Chon Gomez and one daughter, Irma Gomez.

Survivors include three sons, Maclovio "Coyo" Gomez of Odessa, Jose Gomez of Odessa, Robert Gomez of Midland; two sisters, Amparo Sanchez of Midland, Filomena Lebario of Odessa; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was born March 24, 1903, in Barstow, was a retired ranch hand and a Christian.

Survivors include two sons, David and Salvador Rodriguez of Odessa; one brother, Francisco Rodriguez of Odessa; two sisters, Lola Avila of Los Angeles, Calif., Delia Guerrero of Midland; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren.

Adela Sertuche

Adela Sertuche, 43, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, in Harlingen, Tx.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at Templo Buena Nuevas , 505 Vine Ave., in Odessa with Rev. Rosario Hill officiating.

She was born Aug. 30, 1958, in Saragosa, was raised and educated in Odessa, was very active with MHMR, had lived in Harlingen, for the past three years, was a member of The Good Sheppard Assembly of God in Harlingen and a former member of the Templo Monte Calvario in Odessa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Gilbert Sertuche and one sister, Elva Sertuche.

Survivors include four brothers, Manuel Sertuche of McAllen, Pete Sertuche of Clute, Robert Sertuche of Odessa, Israel Sanchez of Fort Worth; three sisters, Elida Tucker of Harlingen, Linda Montanez of Clute, Martha Lara of Midland; 13 nieces and nephews and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Rosa Rios

Rosa Rios, 75, of Jal, N.M., died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Covenant Lakeside in Lubbock.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Father Rodrick Garvey officiating. Burial will be in Jal Cemetery.

She was born April 12, 1926, in Colorado City, Texas, moved to the Jal area in 1978, from Pecos and was a Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cruz Rios.

Frederico B. Jaquez

Frederico B. Jaquez, known to his grandkids and family at "Teto" and also known as "Fred" or "Lico" to his friends, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002. He passed away at Medical Center Hospital. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Jaquez was born March 2, 1943, in Pecos to Marcelo and Antonia Jaquez.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Simon B. Jaquez.

He and his wife moved to Odessa two years ago from Pecos. He was a retired carpenter. Mr. Jaquez and his wife, Juana "Juanita," were longtime musicians. At the time of his death, he and his wife co-managed Mariachi Aguila were very well known throughout West Texas and Southern New Mexico. He attended mostly San Jose Catholic Church. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m., today, at Peaceful Gardens Funeral Home in Pecos. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church.

Mr. Jaquez is survived by his wife, Juana "Juanita;" son, Freddy S. Jaquez of Odessa; and daughter, Selina Machuca and Lorenzo Marquez Jr. And his most beloved grandchildren, Bianca and Zachariah Machuca, all of Midland. He is also survived by his brothers, Sebero and wife Vicenta, Greg and wife Connie and Lazaro, all of Pecos; sisters, Nati Flores and husband Silverio, Josie Elliott and husband Darrel of California, Lala Roman, Elvira and husband Ramon of Pecos and Inez and husband Eulojio of Midland; and sister-in-law, Josefa Jaquez; and Gabriel Machuca ex-son-in-law and good friend and various nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks for the many kind expressions of love and sympathy.

Jane Pointer Greenhill

Deidra Jane Pointer Greenhill was born August 10, 1930 to Alvin Bertram Pointer and Pearl Beatrice Friday Pointer. She grew up in Pecos and married Joe Ed Greenhill August 19, 1955 in Fort Davis. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Mrs. Greenhill was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Pointer and her brother, Reverend Neil Pointer. Survivors include her husband, Joe Greenhill of Midland; sons, Tommy Greenhill and wife Jackie of Red Oak, Texas, and Steve Greenhill and wife Haydee of Odessa; daughter Kathryn Roberts and husband Dennis of Giddings, Tx; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Pozzi of Newport Beach, California, and Frazee McAnally and husband W.C. of Fort Stockton; and sister-in-law Lavonda Pointer of Fort Worth.

Mrs. Greenhill passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002 at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002 in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David C. Mindel of First Christian Church of Odessa officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

Services are incomplete for Frederico Jaquez, 58, of Odessa, who died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Odessa Medical Center.

Janice Pitts

Janice Pitts, 48, of Pecos, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, in an Odessa hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Leroy Linney, pastor of Hosanna Christian Fellowship in Stanton, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.

She was born Nov. 18, 1953, in Big Spring, attended Grady and Flower Grove schools, for five years worked as a gin clerk at Brown Gin in the Brown Community, Tarzan Farmers Gin and Long Gin in Stanton, worked in the Martin County Tax Assessor-Collector's office for five years and was a billing and rating clerk at Winkles Trucking Co. in Pecos for five years. She owned and operated Family Traditions in Pecos until her health failed and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Pecos.

She was preceded in death by one son, Buster Klyce Franklin and her father, Buster Haggard.

Survivors include her husband, J.T. Pitts of Pecos; one daughter, Mandy Garza of Stanton; one son, John Randy Franklin of Lenorah; her mother, Mildred Haggard of Stanton; three sisters, Becky Williams of Stanton, Ann Schafer of Glasscock County and Jackie Wells of Lenorah; her grandmother, Clara Allred of Stanton and two grandchildren.

Rodolfo Olivas

Rodolfo "Rudy" Natividad Olivas, 46, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Odessa Medical Center.

Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at Holy Redeemer Church, in Odessa, with Father Pablo Tiong officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 7, 1955, in Pecos, had been a truck driver with Anderson Base Co. in Odessa and Lone Star Machine in Denver City, Tx. and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Amy Allen of Odessa; three brothers, Ishmael, Alfonso and Alfredo Barrera of Odessa; one sister, Yolanda Hinojos of Odessa; his mother, Ruptera and step-father Albert Barrera of Odessa; grandmother Eulalia H. Natividad of Odessa; several aunts and uncles.

Catarino Jaramillo

Catarino Jaramillo, 85, of Seagraves, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, in Lubbock.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 7, at Seagraves Cemetery.

He was born April 16, 1916, in Barstow.

Paul Budlong

Paul Budlong, 44, of Toyah, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, in a traffic accident on I-20.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, at Toyah Cemetery with Rev. J.R. Wooten officiating.

He was born Aug. 29, 1957, in Providence, Rhode Island, was the Toyah Fire Chief, a mechanic, the former mayor of Toyah, a member of the city council in Toyah and a Baptist.

Survivors include one daughter, Paula Smith of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four brothers, Mitch Budlong and wife, Laura Budlong of Toyah, Mike Barchie and wife, Debbie of Providence, R.I., Charlie Budlong of Narragansett, R.I., John Budlong and wife, Joyce of Pennolas Park, Fla.; two sisters, Linda Willis and husband, Donald of Morrero, La. and Melody Stokes and husband, Danny of Big Spring.

Norman Eisenwine

Mr. Norman A. Eisenwine, 92, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at the Claystone Healthcare Center in Ennis.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Mount Evergreen Cemetery, with J.E. McCormick officiating.

He was born Sept. 11, 1909, in Pecos; the son of Julius and Carrie Wilkinson Eisenwine. He was reared in Pecos where he attended Pecos High School. He then attended Texas A&M and Draughns Business School in Abilene. On March 18, 1933 he was married to Annevlyn Roberson of Pecos. After their marriage they lived in Pecos where he owned and operated a car dealership and was involved in ranching. In July 1997 they moved to Ennis. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Ennis. He served as a deacon at the Pecos First Christian Church and was on the board for several years. He was a member of the Lion's Club of Pecos and a Charter member of the Reeves County Sheriff's Posse.

He is survived by his wife, Annevlyn of Ennis; two sons and their wives, Louis and Glenda Eisenwine of Ennis, Jim and Susan Eisenwine of Carrollton; three daughters and their husbands, Norma and Bill Payne of Ennis, Carolyn and Johnny Carson of Burleson, Marilyn and Steve McCormick of San Angelo; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Christian Church of Pecos, Pecos Senior Center or your favorite charity.

Consuelo Lozano

Consuelo "Connie" Ortega Lozano, 78, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at Odessa Regional Hospital.

She was born in Toyah, was a former jail and prison ministry worker and former Pecos resident.

Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa.

Survivors include one son, Joe Lozano of Odessa; four daughters, Naomi Brown of Rosenberg, Patsy Galindo, Margaret Michaelis and Sylvia Lara, all of Odessa; five sisters, Hope Nunez of Pecos, Naomi Naverette of El Paso, Lydia Campbell of Englewood, Calif., Margie Sutter of Fresno, Calif., Virginia Armendariz of Midland; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Matilde Salgado

Matilde R. Salgado, 65, of Pecos, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

A rosary will be held at 8 p.m., today at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Miguel Angel Sanchez officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

She was born May 27, 1936, in Ft. Davis, was housewife, had lived in San Angelo for the past two years and was a Catholic.

Survivors include her husband, Raul Salgado of Pecos; four sons, Raul Salgado Jr., Reinaldo Salgado of San Angelo, Raymundo and Ricardo Salgado of Pecos; two daughters, Melinda S. Ramirez of Pecos, Delinda S. Cardenas of San Angelo; three brothers, Ramon and Salvador Rodriguez of Alpine, Enrique Rodriguez of Balmorhea; two sisters, Soveda Ramos, Elisa Watts of Alpine and 10 grandchildren.
