My father, Hal Brown, coached boxing in the years after I left for
college, 1966 and forward. I would enjoy hearing from those whose lives
he touched. He was a wonderful father and citizen of Barstow and
Pecos. He loved West Texas and loved sharing his boxing knowledge.

Hello Pecos and fellow Pecos exes. My name is Martin Gomez and I live in
Lubbock. Thank you for allowing those of us that have moved from Pecos
to enjoy the local news and the Pecos Gab. I didn't graduate from Pecos
High but I grew up in Pecos and earned my high school diploma while
serving in the U.S. Army in 1987.
I moved back to Pecos for a little over a year after leaving the Army
before deciding to move to Lubbock to attend college. I have been here
since 1991. I visit my family and friends in Pecos at least twice a year
(more if possible).
I read the Enterprise every day via your web site. I look forward to
reading about familiar people and familiar places and seeing who has
logged in to the Pecos Gab. Thank you again for giving all Pecos exes a
chance to go back home if even for a brief moment each day.
My best wishes to Principal Danny (Coach) Rodriguez and his family. My
thoughts and prayers are with you.

I too grew up in Pecos and have many fond memories. I have enjoyed
reading
about other long lost Pecosites. I am married to Jack Davis--class of
l969--and we have lived in Austin for the past 20 years. We have two
children--Chandler is 19 and a freshman at SWTSU in San Marcos. Ashley
is 17
and a senior in high school. I am an elementary teacher--teaching
children
who need extra help with reading and those who are learning English as a
second language. Jack is an aquatic biologist for the state of Texas. My
email
address is jdavis7118@aol.com and I'm looking forward to hearing from old

The people at the local paper should be congratulated for adding this to
our paper.
I remember while I was in the service overseas I looked forward to
getting the paper,
although several weeks late !!
Just wanted to add my name to the list and perhaps some of the ones who
graduated
in 1936 or 1937 in the "outer world" will enroll as I have??
A very good addition to the paper

Just "found" this site -- so exciting.
I lived in Pecos from 4th grade through the middle of my junior year at PHS.
My family moved to Lubbock, but I consider Pecos "home." My brother Wayne
graduated in 1958 and I was in the class of '62. For some time I've been
"e-
mailing" with Deanna Kay Holm (Mrs. Clifton Miller) and Deanne Glier (Mrs.
David Phillips). I'm also married to a Phillips -- but no kin! Just last
week, we got Toressa Baker's (Mrs. Ronnie Kilgore) address, and she's in the
loop now. It's great catching up with everyone. I'd love to hear from
anyone
in Pecos.
My mom now lives in Andrews, and she and I visited Pecos for a day last
year.
We spent almost the entire day in the museum -- ran into Mary Lou Lockett
who
was working there; she gave me Gloria Lockett Bowers' phone number. Called
her and it was like "old times."
I live in Dallas -- came here after college and raised my family in Plano.
In
1996, my husband and I left our 2 daughters in college at Hardin-Simmons and
moved to Granville, Ohio (just east of Columbus). We spent some time in
Hong
Kong last year before coming back to Dallas in October, 98. Would love to
hear from some of my old classmates.

Hello all,
This is Wendy (Sullivan) Pingleton. I graduated from PHS in 1988. Just
trying to find any lost souls who might be interested in emailing a few
of us from that class. I have a few email addresses and am eager to
find more. Anyone from the years before us or after us is also welcome.
Maybe we can get together for a fifteen year reunion since our tenth
slipped us by.
Chow!

I grew up in Pecos a long time ago and I will take credit for coming up
with the idea for the Pecos Gab Site, but Peggy did all the work. I
left Pecos after graduation in 1966 for college and made my life and
home elsewhere as so many have done. I find it so interesting that we
all look back to read the Pecos Enterprise after all these years.
Pecos provided a wonderful home and upbringing for me and apparently for
all of the others who are writing in to the Pecos Gab Site. We have all
taken the warmth and loving spirit of the people of Pecos and the
wonderful values we were taught with us into the world. The harshness
of the land helped us all to be a real community. I was so shocked when
I moved to the city and had to pay to have anything done. In Pecos
neighbors help neighbors whether that neighbor can afford to pay for it
or not. I think that is why we all feel so close even after being away
for 30 or more years.
I even handled a claim for David Dean who was in Australia at the time
and one for Craig Lamkin in East Texas. What a small world! We caught
up on old times and enjoyed the humor of running into other Pecosites.
Pecos prepared me for all the hardships of life and the good things of
life. All of the wonderful teachers and mentors gave me the skills I
needed to succeed in life. I fondly remember how Mr. Carrico endured
our triumphs and our failures and even our bad behavior. I just wanted
to take the time to thank everyone in Pecos and all those who have
left. I know that we took the friendship, helping spirit, and tough
determination with us to share it all with the rest of the world. The
world is a better place for it.
Hopefully, Pecos will continue to develop their young people so they,
too, can make the world a better place.

Hello Pecosites and Barstowonians:
My name is Adolfo Muniz and my wife is Georgia (Guebara) Muniz, we live in Andrews, Tx. We're both members of the "Class" of ' 74. I grew up in Barstow and went to school in Pecos where I met my lovely wife. We have a son (Jr. in high school) and a daughter (married). Also a son in law and granddaughter, I know we're too young to be "Grand parents", but that's life! I work for a major oil company here in the in the oil field (who knows how long?) I've seen Jamie (Toone) Dillingham and Ruperta Machuca here in town. Carroll Andes was living here but I've lost touch with him, I believe he moved.
A good friend, Jesse Carrasco,(class of ' 74, also), told me about this site. It's GREAT, I'd like to congratulate whoever thought of this! I'd like to say "HI" to all our fellow classmates. Time for another reunion isn't it? I'd like to hear from other members of our class. My address is apmuniz@apex2000.net.
Joy Brown Ray if you see this, would you write to me, PLEASE !!
