My name is Sandra Huerta-Halcon from Modesto, California. I am requesting information about my cousins/family that might still remain in Pecos. My grandmother was Ambrocia Rodriguez, she was my mothers step-mother. My grandmother had one son, he had 13 children. My grandmother had a business where she made tortillas for many years in Pecos. My mothers name was Francisca Gochicoa Huerta, she married my dad, Miguel Huerta of Monahanas, Texas. I would very much like to get in contact with any family members. Thank you,

To everyone formerly and currently from Pecos who is interested. My name is Rosa M. Salinas, my brother Johnny V. Mata was killed in Iraq in March 2003. I know his 20th High School Reunion will be coming up soon and wanted to invite anyone who is here during that time to contact us. Since his passing we have started a Memorial Tournament in his honor and would like to get a bigger response. Johnny had alot of friends who played sports with him and we are hoping you will join us for the Tournament. This year the Tournament will start Friday Sept 1-3, Labor Day weekend. We will be selling food, drinks and souvenier caps and shirts. The money that is raised will go towards a Memorial Scholarship given at Pecos High School in his memory. This Tournament is held in hopes of keeping his memory alive. To all interested you can call me at 432-448-1280 or e-mail me at rsthree2003@yahoo.com. Also to all the troops still in Iraq we pray that you come home safe to your family. Thank you Mata and Salinas Family Subject: Class of 1996 Pecos high School Reunion From: Russell Jones Date: 06-13-06 To: news@pecos.net

I graduated from Pecos High in 1996. I have looked all over the class reunion web sites and haven’t found anything about a reunion for 1996. Do you all have any info? Does Lea Holland still work for the news paper?

Thanks Russell Jones

Just a note to let y'all know that everyone's favorite coach and principal Garland Matthews will celebrate his 90th birthday soon. There will be a "come and go" party held at the Reeves County Civic Center (next to the rodeo grounds in Pecos) on Sunday June 4 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. If any of you are in the area on that day, please come by and say hello to one of Pecos' most distinguished citizens.

Class of 1984- This is Jannette Reyes and I wanted to say “hola” to everyone. I had been in the Amarillo area since graduation and moved about a year ago to the extreme southern part of our state. I now reside in Edinburg, Texas which is located in the Rio Grande Valley. This is a wonderful place to be with a community full of culture and diversity. I am only about 1 hour and 15 minutes away from South Padre Island and take every opportunity to go!

If you ever find yourself in this direction, let me be your family’s tour guide. There’s a lot to see in South Texas! ( I sound like a commercial, don’t I??) Mi casa es tu casa to the graduating class of 1984 and other friends in town. If you see my brother, Danny Reyes, in town ya’ll give him a hard time for me…A special hello goes out to Eddie!!

Contact me at frindles247@yahoo.com I wish all of you the best of happiness,

Jannette Reyes

To the Pecos exes, I graduated in the class of "65".  I still enjoy my memories of living in Pecos.  My green 55 chev., would run a hole in the wind.  Circling ALLs, visiting with my friends parked at Alls, sophomore circle,  the Frito burgers could not be beat.  I left Pecos when I graduated to seek my fortune elsewhere, did fine for my self and will retire next year to travel and continue to enjoy my good years left.  I was in Pecos in 2005, as I come to look around every few years and I am amazed how a lot of the town has gone.THE PECOS ENTERPRISE, SMOKEY BRIGGS AND STAFF HAVE DONE AN OUTSTANDING JOB HELPING KEEP OUR GROWING UP MEMORIES ALIVE, THANK YOU.  Till I write again, Chuck Coats

Dear Editor, I grewup in Pecos and my father, Vestel H. Lott, was the editor of the "PecosEnterprise" for all of my childhood. We moved away (to New York City)during WWII when he went to work for the Office of War Information(OWI). I haven't been back to visit since 1975, but I have many fondmemories of Pecos, & was delighted to find a link to the Enterprise onmy computer. The information there brought back many happy memories . Yours truly, Carol Ann Lott Strahlman 1108 Canon Way Westminster, MD 21157

From:JContreras@echd.org (p)Just wanted to say hello to all my Pecos buddies who correspond to the gab. It's always good to hear commentary from current or ex Pecosites. I wonder how all my classmates from the high and mighty class of 1985 are doing. For all of you out there, I hope this message finds you in good spirits and in good health. I reminisce about Pecos regularly and I always tell my working colleagues that if I had to grow up all over again, I wouldn't change a thing about my incredible childhood in Pecos. A special hello to Tommy Levario, Sonny Orona, Jorge Estrella, Israel Nichols, Francisco Sotelo, Sammy Contreras, Elias Payan, Olivia Herrera, George Luna, and everyone else whom I left out, but you know who you are. I'd like to express my deepest sympathy to the Marina Granado family of Pecos after the loss of Marina during that devastating accident near Denver City last year. Cheers, Amigos and stay cool. Javier A. Contreras, class of '85.
