Danny Leos

Danny Leos, 43, of Pecos, died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at Reeves County Hospital. Mass was held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 28, at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church with Father Gustavo Lopez officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 13, 1960, in Pecos, was a lifetime resident of Pecos, a Police Officer with the Pecos Police Department and former Reeves County Sheriff’s Deputy and a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Leos of Pecos; one daughter, Lisa Marie Zermeno of Pecos; two brothers, Abel Leos Jr. of Garland, Ynes Leos of Ivanhoe, Calif.; four sisters, Felipa and Rebecca Leos of San Angelo, Norma Dominguez and Mary Hernandez of Pecos.

Pecos Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rita Baeza

Rita Sanchez De Baeza, 89, of Pecos, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at her residence. Mass was held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 18, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

She was born May 22, 1915, in El Mesquite, Ojinaga, Chih., was a housewife and a Catholic.

Baeza was preceded in death one daugher, Lazartia Baeza; her parents, Vidal and Rita Padilla Sanchez and her husband, Teodoro Guiterrez Baeza.

Survivors include three sons, Pablo Baeza of Pecos, Ireno Baeza of Tula, Teodoro Baeza of Amarillo; five daughters, Maria Luisa Baeza De Baeza of Burlington, Colo., Maria De Jesus Baeza De Payen of Pecos, Agustina Baeza De Paz of Mesqui, Chih., Rocio Baeza De Bernabel of Liberal, Kan.; one brother, Celestino Sanchez of Tatum, N.M.; one sister, Angeleta Sanchez De Ontiveros of Chih., Mexico; 31 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Peaceful Garden Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Staci Wheeless

Staci Lynn Wheeless, 38, of Pecos, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at her residence. Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 14, at First Christian Church with L.H. Woodard officiating. Burial was in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born April 6, 1966, in Ft. Stockton and had lived in Pecos a long time.

Survivors include her parents, Bailey and Patsy Wheeless of Pecos and one sister, Tobi Stewart of Fredricksburg.

Manuel Rubio

Manuel Rubio, 80, of Pecos, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

A rosary was held at 7 p.m., Friday, June 4, at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Mass was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Manuel Munoz officiating. Burial in Santa Rosa Catholic Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 6, 1923, in Ft. Stockton, was a laborer, a longtime Pecos resident and a Catholic.

Rubio was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Filomena Rubio; one son, Guadalupe Rubio; two sisters and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Apolonia P. Rubio of Pecos; four sons, Manuel Rubio, Jr. of Flower Mound, Danny and Israel Rubio of Pecos, Ismael Rubio of Lubbock; five sisters, Trinidad R. Gallardo of Lubbock, Teresa R. Prieto and Lisa R. Fuentes of Pecos, Eliser R. Rayos of Carlsbad, N.M., Erlinda R. Shannon of Beaumont and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Whitlow

Kenneth William Whitlow, an infant, died Friday, June 4, 2004, at Odessa Regional Hospital.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, at Fairview Cemetery with Roger Whitlow officiating.

Survivors include his parents, Scott and Tina Whitlow of Monahans and one sister, Amanda M. Whitlow of Monahans.

Helen Hagar

Funeral services for Helen Marie Simpson Hagar, 88, of Normangee, were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 6, at the Harmony Baptist Church in Normangee.

Rev. M.L. Magee assisted by Jamey R. Wright officiated.

Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mrs. Hagar and her husband lived in Pecos for over 50 years.
