Louise Williams

Lanita Louise Brookshier Williams, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 2, at the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger. Burial will be in the Norwood Cemetery.

Williams attended schools in Talpa and Ballinger, Sul Ross State University and received her degree from Texas Tech in Lubbock. She taught school in Ector School District for 30 years and before that taught in Balmorhea and Lawn, Tx. She had 36 years of teaching experience.

She was preceded in death by her only child, Juanita Stokes; one brother, Grafton Brookshier; one sister, Margaret Bragg; her parents, Claud and Maggie Brookshier.

Survivors include one granddaughter, Maggie Stokes of Odessa; three nephews; two nieces and several cousins.

Rains-Seale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Delia Guerrero

Delia R. Guerrero, 74, of Pecos, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at Manor Park Nursing Home in Midland.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, at the First Presbyterian Church in Barstow with burial in Barstow Cemetery.

She was born May 8, 1927, in Barstow, was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Guerrero was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Guerrero.

Survivors include two sons, Louis Guerrero of Odessa, Robert Guerrero of Austin; three daughters, Lily Dominguez of Pecos, Maggie Guerrero of Midland, Stella Strange of Plano; one brother, Francisco Rodriguez of Odessa; one sister, Aurora Avila of California; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Benino Sanchez Jr.

Benino "Ben" Sanchez, Jr., 51, of Pecos, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, in Pecos.

A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, at St. Emily's Catholic Church in Toyah.

Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, May 1, at St. Emily's Catholic Church in Toyah with burial in Toyah Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 16, 1952, in Toyah, had served in the United States Army, was a lifetime Pecos resident and a Catholic.

Sanchez was preceded in death by his mother, Eugena Carrasco Sanchez.

Survivors include his father, Benino Sanchez, Sr. of Toyah; one daughter, Bianca Marie Sanchez of San Antonio; one brother, Ramon Sanchez of Odessa; eight sisters, Maria McColmb of Hendersonville, Tenn., Senaida Sutton, Josie Jimenez and Olga Lopez of Pecos; Cruz Millan of Andrews, Eufemia McKern of Salem, Oregon, Anna McIntyre of Lee Summit, Missouri and Adela George of Godonsville, Va.

Services for Delia Guerrero, 74, who died Monday morning, April 28, in Midland are incomplete.

Ben Sanchez

Services for Benino "Ben" Sanchez, 51, of Pecos, who died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Reeves County Hospital are incomplete.

Guadalupe 'Lupe' Juarez

Guadalupe 'Lupe' Juarez, 53, died on April 18, 2003 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

He was born on October 7, 1949 in Pecos to Terseso and Juana Juarez.

He married Rosa Linda Fuentes on June 26, 1985 in Odessa.

Survivors are his wife, Rosa Linda Juarez of Odessa, daughters Sylvia Castillo of Midland and Priscilla Navarrette of Odessa, stepson Christopher Anaya of Odessa, stepdaughters Christina Serna of Dallas and Abby Michelle Anaya of San Angelo, brothers Victorino Juarez and Tereso Juarez both of Barstow, Fransisco Juarez of Midland and Tito Juarez of Houston, one sister Margie Vasquez of Odessa, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 22 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow. Burial will follow at Barstow Cemetery.

Services are being done by Odessa Funeral Home.

Eligio Acosta

Eligio H. Acosta, Sr., 61, died Thursday, April 10, 2003 in Irving.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, and a Mass will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Del Carmen E. Acosta of Houston; his mother, Isabel H. Villa of Alpine; three sons, Gabriel E. Acosta and Orland Acosta of Houston, Eligio "Mijo" C. Acosta Jr. of Dallas; four daughters, Elva Acosta, Irma Cobos, Erlinda Diaz of Alpine and Cecelia Zubia of Arizona; two sisters, Petra Benavidez of Midlothian, Maria Acosta of Venus; three brothers, Antonio Acosta of Hobbs, N.M., Erasmo Acosta of Pecos, Rafael "Douglas" Acosta Jr. of Irving; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Tomasa Acosta

Tomasa "Tommie" Acosta, 61, of Pecos, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at her residence.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Fernando De Luna officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 1, 1941, in Redford, was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Luis Acosta of Pecos; three daughters, Jo Ann Rogers of Mesquite, Brenda Aguilar of Pecos, Cheryl Trejo of Arlington; one son, Randy Ramos; one foster daughter, Lydia Aguirre; two brothers, Daniel Martinez of Marina, Calif., Oscar Martinez of Victoria; three sisters, Mary Lou Gamboa of Odessa, Dora Vasquez of Odessa, Gloria Rodriguez of Carlsbad, N.M.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Osbaldo Aragon

Osbaldo "Obie" H. Aragon, 49, of Odessa, died Friday, April 11, 2003, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Don Fankhauser officiating. A memorial service will follow immediately after the graveside service at Life Unlimited Church at 3 p.m.

Aragon was born Oct. 29, 1953, in Pecos, was employed by Oxy Permian, USA in 1973 and was a member of Antioch Christian Church. His loves included his family, softball, cars and oldies music.

Survivors include his wife, Estela Aragon of Odessa; his mother, Alicia Herrera of Pecos; two sons, Stephen Osbaldo Aragon, Christian Lee Aragon; two daughters, Rebecca Aragon Rizo, Erica Lisa Aragon; three sisters, Yolanda Aragon, Olga Jacobs and Aurora Aragon and four granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of "Obie" to Home Hospice, 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, Tx. 79761.

Joe Bradley

Joe Bradley, 75, of Pecos, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at his residence.

Graveside services were held at 4 p.m., Sunday, at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery with Alfonso Navarro officiating.

He was born April 10, 1928, in El Paso, served in the United States Army, was a farmer and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Etta Bradley of Pecos; three daughters, Karen Bradley, Marty Parks and Cassady Bradley of Pecos; two sons, Jimmy Bradley of Pecos, Danny Bradley of Wink; two brothers, Bob Bradley of Girvin, Pat Bradley of Floydada and 11 grandchildren.

Johnny Mata

Johnny Villareal Mata, 35, of Pecos, died March 23, 2003, in Iraq.

A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., today at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel.

A vigil is scheduled for 10:30 p.m., today at the Pecos High School football field.

Mass will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 12, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Ben Florez officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 19, 1967, in Pecos, was a Chief Warrant Officer II, who was serving in the U.S. Army in Iraq, a longtime Pecos resident and a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Nancili M. Mata of El Paso; one son, Eric M. Mata of El Paso; one daughter, Stephani Mata of El Paso; his parents, Domingo C. and Elvira V. Mata of Pecos; maternal grandparents, Roy Villareal and Rosa Fuentez of Pecos; paternal grandfather, Felipe Mata of Pecos; four brothers, Raul Gomez of Midland, David Mata of Balmorhea, Domingo C. Jr. and Albert V. Mata of Pecos and one sister, Rosa M. Salinas of Pecos.

Tommy Morales

Tommy S. Morales, Jr., 66, of Pecos, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at his residence.

Mass was held at 10 a.m., today, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Miguel Angel Sanchez officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 15, 1937, in Pecos, was retired, a lifetime Pecos resident, had served in the United States Navy and was a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Morales of Pecos; his mother, Antonia Morales of Pecos; one daughter, DeeDee Morales of Pecos; one step-daughter, Theresa M. Perez of Pecos; one brother, George Morales of Midland; three sisters, Geneva M. Florez and Katie Ybarra of Pecos, Gloria Delgado of El Paso and three grandchildren.

Manuel Tarin

Manuel Tarin, 91, of Toyah, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at Reeves County Hospital.

A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., today, at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, at Saint Emily Catholic Church in Toyah with burial in Toyah Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 10, 1912, in Toyah, was retired, served in the United States Army in World War II, was a veteran, a lifetime Toyah resident and a Catholic.

Survivors include two brothers, Eliseo Valdez of Sacramento, Calif., Ed Campos of Ft. Collins, Colo.; three sisters, Florinda Martinez of El Paso, Olivia Guerra of Freemont, Tx., Loretta Campos of Toyah and numerous nieces and nephews.
