Golden Girl candidate profiles

Ivu Shea Brossman

Ivi Shea Brossman is the 17-year-old daughter of Davey and Debbie Beauchamp of Pecos.

Ivi is sponsored by Sprayco Distributors/Courier for Airborne Express.

Miss Brossman has been a varsity cheerleader for three years, is a
member of the track team, All Star Cheerleader, Who's Who Award,
Sohomore Princess for homecoming, Junior Duchess for homecoming court,
1987 Little Miss Cantaloupe and in 1988 won Miss Congeniality and First
Runner-Up in East Coast Pageant in Dallas. In 1989 she won 11 awards in
Los Angeles at the International Modeling and Talent Association and
runner-up for Star Child of the Year.

Her hobbies and other interests include cheerleading, dancing, spending
time with friends and learning new things.

She says she enjoys meeting new people, "I am really looking forward to
graduating from Pecos High School and furthering my education in college
at Southwest Texas," she said. "I plan a future career in the medical
field."

Olivia Dawn Lara

Olivia Dawn Lara is the 17-year-old daughter of Joe Robert and Rita Lara. Miss Lara is sponsored by Popular Thriftway and CBI (Cravey Brothers,
Inc.)

She enjoys volleyball, singing and listening to music.

Lara is a member of Business Professionals of America.

Her future plans include to attend San Angelo State University to study
accounting or administrative assistant.

Conners tell of new daughter

Mr. and Mrs. Gary D. Conner announce the birth of their daughter, Helen
Rashelle Conner. She was born June 2 and weighed six pounds, 14.6
ounces.

Helen was welcomed home by her brother Lee David Conner.

Lara celebrates first birthday

Malorie Alyssa Lara, daughter of Jaime Lara and Rebecca Aragon
celebrated her first birthday on May 27. A birthday party was given in
her honor on May 24 at Gattiland in Odessa.

Malorie's birthday theme was her favorite 101 Dalmations. Her personal
birthday cake, made by Holly Key, was in the shape of a Dalmation.

Malorie's guests shared a Dalmation decorated cake.

After plenty of pizza, cake, and opening gifts, Malorie and her guests
enjoyed playing video games.

Her favorite gift was a V-Tech Peek-A-Boo Computer given to her by her
parents.

Malorie is the granddaughter of Velma Dominguez, Donaciano and Mary Lara
and Osbaldo Aragon.

Martinez finishes course

Army Pvt. Jason L. Martinez has graduated from the heavy-wheel vehicle
mechanic course at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the course, students were instructed to perform maintenance and
assist in the repair of heavy duty vehicles and associated equipment.

Martinez is the son of Ilvira Martinez and Pilar Contreras of Pecos.

He is a 1996 graduate of Pecos High School.

Area students make list

Three Pecos area students attending Angelo State University in San
Angelo, are listed on the Dean's List for the Spring semester at the
University.

Those listed include Catherine Blassingame Allen, a Special Learning and
Development major, Theresa P. Fuentes, an English major and Steven Lujan
Rodriguez, a Pre-pharmacy major all from Pecos.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled as a full
time student and have at least a 3.25 grade point average.
