Barbecue plate sale set

The Annual Barbecue Plate Sale will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Reeves County Sheriff's Posse Barn.

The event is an annual fundraiser sponsored by Christmas for the Kids and will benefit children in the community.

Class places first in science fair

Socorro Mason's fifth grade social class at Bessie Haynes Elementary School had first place winners with their fair projects. Science fair winners included, Alfonso Munoz, Silvia Baeza, Jaime Flores, Victoria Hernandez, Bonifacio Garcia, Jeremy Ramirez and Vanity Vasquez. These students in Mason's class participated in a study of Native American cultures.
 

Story Hour entertains many children

A group of children came to Pecos from the Saragosa Headstart for the Monday morning Story Hour at the Reeves County Library. Volunteers, Mary Barfield and Emily Fernandes read to the 20 children that attended. The children enjoyed snacks. The library provided Headstart teachers with new information and videos given to the library by the American Red Cross of Odessa.
