Bake sale planned
Friends of the Museum will sponsor a bake sale beginning at 9 a.m., Friday,
Oct. 15, at the West of the Pecos Museum.
An assortment of delicious cakes, breads, cookies and pies will be for
sale.
Everyone is encouraged to come purchase an item and help the West of
the Pecos Museum.
Machuca arrives at training camp
Army Pvt. Steve R. Machuca has arrived at Fort Knox, Ky., to complete basic
combat training.
During the eight weeks of training, the soldier will receive instruction
in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy,
military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history and traditions.
Machuca is the son of Juana R. and Eutimio Machuca of Pecos.
In 1999, he graduated from Pecos High School.
Meeting planned for Saturday
The Pecos Valley Lodge #736 will hold an Open Meeting, at 7 p.m., Saturday,
Oct. 16, to honor Woody M. Merritt by awarding him the Golden Trowel Award
for his services to the lodge and community.
Right Worshipful Ferris Benham Past Grand Lodge of Texas, from Odessa,
will be the main speaker and present the award to Merritt.
All Masons, their families and friends are urged to attend this meeting.
