Sul Ross presents theatre program

The Sul Ross State University theatre program will present the farce, "Footlight Frenzy," Friday-Sunday, Oct. 8-10. Friday and Saturday performances will be at 8 p.m. in the Studio Theatre, with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.

Sul Ross theatre major Liz Castillo, of Balmorhea, is directing the play for her senior project. General admission is $4 adults and $1 children. SRSU students with an ID card and high school students will pay $2. Faculty and staff members with activity cards will pay $3.

Written by Ron House, Diz White, Alan Shearman and Bud Slocumb, "Footlight Frenzy" offers a backstage view of people desperately trying to make it through a show. A fog machine and strobe light will be in use.

"Footlight Frenzy" focuses on the Rye School for Unusual Children, which is in need of funding. The faculty members bring in Tony Langdon, played by Sul Ross student Victor Natera (Alpine), to write and direct a play. If the Arts Foundation Board likes the show, the school will receive the funding.

Other cast members are Mike McQuerry (Snyder, as Paul Becker), LaKisha Johnson (Richmond, Laura Becker), Eric Jones (Mission, Alex Malone), Lori Torres (Alpine, Debbie Turner) and Chris Perkins (Alpine, Benny).

Booster club to meet

The Pecos Athletic Booster Club will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11, at the Pecos High School Cafeteria.

New members are welcome and everyone is encouraged to support the Pecos Eagles.
