Pugh, Palumbo exchange wedding vows

Miss Leslie Pugh and Mr. Lewis Charles Joseph Palumbo were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, in a candlelight ceremony at East Dallas Christian Church.

The Rev. Chris Schrow officiated at the double ring ceremony with nuptial music provided by organist Paul Volger, vocalists Roberta Harney and Ann Cloutier and trumpeter Conrad Bauschka.

A reception followed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and music was played by the Paul Salos Dance Band. On the eve of the wedding the rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Pomodoro's.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Weldon Pugh of Greenville and the granddaughter of Mrs. Wanda Warren Hughes of Pecos and the late Mr. Marvin Crawford Hughes.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William George Harrington of Corinth and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Anthony Palumbo of Fairfax, Va.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a floor-length sleeveless gown of ivory satin featuring a V-neckline and princess waist with an embroidered midriff of rum pink satin trimmed in pearls and crystal beading. The skirt extended into a cathedral train accented with appliqued lace and graduated pearls.

Her elbow-length veil of illusion was attached to a headband of ivory and rum pink satin intertwined with seed pearls. She wore a pearl necklace, a gift from the bridegroom, and the blue garter worn by her mother in her wedding.

She also wore a rum pink and ivory lace garter designed and made by a childhood friend of her mother. The bridal bouquet was formed of white hydrangeas, Queen Anne's lace and Vivaldi roses.

Lisa Anne Pugh was maid of honor for her sister, and matron of honor was Dorsey Brown Martensen. Bridesmaids were Leslie Ann Dubuque, Leigh Catherine Freer, Stacy Dale Hailey, Stacy Leigh Palumbo, sister of the bridegroom; and Tammy Elizabeth Stegent.

Robert Cornwell Bond served as best man. Groomsmen were Bradford Patton Barry, William Robert Cook, Charles Thomas Palumbo Jr., cousin of the bridegroom; Andrew Gary Sudduth, Douglas Russell Thompson, James Burk Whitlow and William Hudson Woods. The groomsmen also served as ushers and candlelighters.

Following a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple will reside in Atlanta, Ga.

The bride graduated from Texas Tech University in 1994 with a B.S. degree in restaurant, hotel and institutional management. She is a sales manager for Crowne Plaza Hotels in Atlanta.

Palumbo graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1991 with a B.B.A. in marketing. He is a senior sales representative for Nokia Mobile Phones in Atlanta.
