Flores celebrates sixth birthday
Christina Marie Flores celebrated her sixth birthday with a party held
in her honor at Maxey Park.
Theme for the event was "Rugrats" complete with an "Angelica" pinata
and Rugrats cake.
Christina received many gifts including clothes and toys.
Her older brother, Anthony Casillas and baby sister, Clarissa Nicole
Flores were on hand to help her celebrate.
She is the daughter of Freddy and Rosie Flores of Pecos.
Paternal grandparents are Eufemia and the late Ignacio "Nacho" Flores
of Pecos.
Parents tell of son's birth
Isaiah Tyler Ornelas was born Saturday, Aug. 28, at 1:45 p.m. at Ward Memorial
Hospital in Monahans.
He is the son of Yvette Barreno and Justin Ross Ornelas of Pecos.
Little Isaiah weighed six pounds, five ounces and was 19 inches long
at birth.
Maternal grandparents are Angie and Ricky Barreno.
Paternal grandmother is Olga "Yogi" Ornelas.
Maternal great-grandparents are Fred and Julia Contreras and Alicia
Barreno.
Paternal great-grandparents are Elisa Ornelas and the late Jesse Ornelas,
all of Pecos.
Herrera ends basic training
Army Pvt. Adrian M. Herrera has arrived at Fort Knox, Ky., to complete
basic combat training.
During the eight weeks of training, the soldier will receive instruction
in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy,
military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history and traditions.
Herrera is the son of Alfredo G. and Hazel A. Herrera of Pecos.
He is a 1999 graduate of Pecos High School.
