Eisenwine to celebrate 90th birthday
Norman Eisenwine, lifelong resident of Pecos, will be celebrating his 90th
birthday on Sept. 1, in Ennis, Tx., where he and Anevyln now reside.
Eisenwine attends the Christian Church on Sundays, plays dominoes every
day, (still wins) and enjoys his five children being close by: Louis Earl
and Norma Ann in Ennis; Carolyn in Fort Worth; Marilyn in Georgetown and
Jim in Carrollton.
As well as his 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, including
Katherine Payne, shown in the picture and Patrick and Jonah Strake, the
newest members of the family.
Eisenwine is a charter member of the Reeves County Sheriff's Posse,
and he still attends the Pecos Rodeo every year with his family who have
always had Box #3.
He receives the Pecos Enterprise in Ennis and loves keeping up with
the news from his hometown. Birthday cards may be sent to: 1406 Hillcrest,

Marquez accepted into respiratory care program
Laura Lee Marquez, a 1998 graduate of Pecos High School, has been accepted
into the Respiratory Care Program at Odessa College.
She has started the required classes on Aug. 26, beginning at 8 a.m.
Marquez started taking some of the required classes in the summer sessions
held at OC.
Director of the program is Jacque Sullivan. Out of maybe 50 applicans,
only 15 are chosen. They are chosen based on their application, interview
and grades both in high school and college level.
Respiratory care includes procedures in Bronchial Hygiene Therapy, Oxygen
Therapy, Arterial Puncture and Limited Ventilator Management.
As a technician starting salary is approximately $19,5000 and as a Therapist,
$25,500 a year. After 22 months of studying, Marquez will be able to practice
anywhere in the stae of Texas.
After this Marquez plans on continuing her education in the Radiology
Department and looks forward to teaching in her future.
She is the daughter of Mickey and Jane Marquez, granddaughter of the
late Manuel and Kika Marquez, all of Pecos.
