Golden Girl Nominee

Sara Elizabeth Matta, is the 17-year-old daughter of Ernest H. and Alice Matta.
She is sponsored by Rubio's Plumbing.
Miss Matta has been a member of the Pecos High School Band for three years, a member of the Spanish Club, has participated in U.I.L. Poetry and competed in solo and ensemble in State Competition for two years.
The Golden Girl nominee was chosen to Who's Who Among American High School Students and received the United States Leadership Award of Merit.
She enjoys singing, dancing hanging out with friends.
"I have been a member of the Pecos Youth Advisory Commission for four years. I served as secretary, chairman and vice-chairman for these past two years," said Matta.
Matta also helps with various fundraisers in the community and serves as a lecture in her Catholic parish.
After graduation she plans to attend St. Mary's University and major in Radiation Therapy.

Car wash planned

A car wash will be held beginning at 10 a.m., at Gibson True Value, 810 Walthall.
Cars will be $5, trucks, $7, vans, $8 and suburbans, $8.
Proceeds to benefit the Reeves County Explorer Post #600.
Come get your vehicle washed and help out a local organization.
