Nichols nets degree from college

Pecos resident Liza Marie Nichols graduated from Schreiner College in ceremonies held on the campus May 9.

Nichols is the daughter of Salvador and Estella Nichols of Pecos.

She received her bachelor of arts degree in exercise science with teacher certification. While attending Schreiner, she was named to the Dean's List and recognized for academic excellence.

Being active on the tennis team, she was named Most Valuable Player and nationally ranked in doubles. She was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was a mentor at Tom Daniels Elementary School in Kerrville.

Schreiner College is an independent, liberal arts college related by choice and by covenant to the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is ranked in the top quartile of western liberal arts colleges by U.S. News and World Report magazine.
