OC to sponsor golf scramble

The Odessa College Athletic Department will host the 1999 Wrangler Club Scramble Thursday, May 6, at Odessa Country Club. Tee times will be announced, or may be obtained at the country club Pro Shop. Special guest will be Rudy Gatlin.

Gatlin, an OC alumnus who learned how to play golf in an OC physical education class, has developed as much a reputation with his brothers for playing golf as the three of them have for decades of music. As special projects manager for the Gatlin Brothers, Rudy oversees such events as the Gatlin/Ewing Buick Metro PGA Assistants Celebrity Golf Tournament for the Muscular Dystrophy.

Entry fee for the four-person scramble is $150 and includes a ticket for one to the Wrangler All-Sports Banquet, to be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, at the OC Sports Center. The scramble will raise money for scholarships and post-season program enhancement.
