Heda, Sanders exchange wedding vows

Elena Anatolierna Heda and Jason Ray Sanders were united in
matrimony in a candlelight ceremony on Dec. 12, at 6:30 in
the evening, at the home of the groom's parents, Larry and
Kim Sanders, with Bishop John L. Swanson of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Anatoliy and Alla Heda of
Kherson, Ukraine.

The groom is the son of Larry and Kim Sanders and the
grandson of the late Cecil and Dolly Sanders and the late
Joe Bennett and Jaylynn Kerley.

Ceneca Sanders, sister of the groom, stood with the bride
and Jeremy and Chase Sanders, brothers of the groom, served
as bestmen as vows were taken by the family tree. The bride
chose Ulkrainian Christmas colors of emerald green and white
and a traditional white satin wedding dress trimmed with
pearls around the scalloped neck an dropped waist. She
carried a cascading bouquet of white roses on top of a white
pearl Bible belonging to the groom's mother.

In keeping with wedding tradition the bride wore a gold
wedding band that belonged to the groom's
great-great-grandmother and wore a blue garter worn by the
groom's mother and grandmother.

The Christmas wedding ceremony was carried out with the
bridesmaid wearing an emerald green velvet dress and the
groom and his brothers wearing red vests. Decorations were
Christmas garland, white poinsettias and white candles
throughout the house.

The wedding ceremony was video taped for the bride's family
in the Ukraine. Following the ceremony the bride introduced
the groom's family and everyone attending to her family in
Russia.

Out of town family were Don and Susan Kerley, Maloy and Kyle
of Fort Davis, Max and Suzie Kerley, Kendra and Andra of
Wink, Don and Karla Bowles, Shane and Chad of Big Spring.

The couple met while Sanders vacationed in the Ukraine in
1997. Heda came to the United States in October 1998, prior
to her working two years as a nurse. She later hopes to
resume her nursing career.

He is employed by Kett Automotive Engineering in Ft.
Stockton where they will make their home.

The couple plan a delayed honeymoon this summer to the
Ukraine.
