Rodriguez in U.S. Marines

Marine Lance Cpl. Osvaldo Q. Rodriguez, son of Ismael
V. and Rosa Emma Q. Rodriguez of Balmorhea, recently was
promoted to his present rank while serving with 1st Tank
Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Marine Corps Air Ground
Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Rodriguez was promoted based on sustained superior job
performance and proficiency in his designated specialty.

The 1995 graduate of Balmorhea High School joined the Marine
Corps in February 1997.

Franco back after serving in U.S. Navy

Israel Franco, of Pecos, has served his country well, having
served in the United States Navy for the past eight years.

Franco who was an E Four, was stationed in Norfolk, Va.,
Rota, Spain and Corpus Christi before returning to his

He is a 1990 graduate of Pecos High School and the son of
Ramon and Isabel Franco of Pecos.

Franco and his wife, Sonia have a daughter, Kista and the
family is back living in Pecos.
