Perea named officer of year
Daniel Perea has been selected as Correctional Officer of
the year for 1998.
Perea has been emloyed at the Reeves County Detention Center
since March 15, 1994. He is married to Betty Kay Perea and
is the proud father of four children.
Perea was selected because of his outstanding efforts in
performing his correctional officer duties in addition to
his collateral duties. "He has demonstrated the ability to
extensively use his bilingual skills by relaying everyday
instructions, safety regulations, and personal counseling to
the inmates," said RCDC Warden Rudy Franco.
During the recent Interim Monitoring Perea was cited by the
Monitoring Team for his performance as Special Housing Unit
Officer as follows: "In an area where care, custody and
control are most obvious, The Special Housing Unit requires
an individual who is knowledgeable of policy, has good
common sense and is a hard worker. Mr. Perea certainly
portrayed these characteristics and the institution can be
proud of his efforts," said Franco.
This award honors Perea as an outstanding employee among the
many nominated throughout the Reeves County Detention
Center. His work within the institution makes him deserving
of this award, according to Franco.
"We are very proud of Mr. Perea and wish him continued
success in his career," said Franco.
