B&PW club holds Christmas dinner
Linda Gholson hosted the annual Business and Professional
Woman's Club's Christmas dinner in her home at 6 p.m., Dec.
10. Each member brought a covered dish of their favorite
food. Gholson's home was beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Members also brought toys and children's clothing to be
given to "Christmas for Kids," sponsored by the Reeves
County Sheriff's Office.
Special guests were Celia Nazaroff, Rhonda Wade and Marian
Kathy Hurley entertained the group by singing two songs:
"The Gift Goes On" and "Light of the World."
Clark reported that her daughter, Kim Clark, 1998 BPW
scholarship recipient, was doing well in college. She and
Kelly Cox, a previous BPW scholarship recipient, will be
participating in a travel course to the Gulf of California,
Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico, during their Christmas
break. This four credit hours course is an 11-day field trip
and involves a comprehensive and systematic study of
intertidal (littoral) marine organisms. The ecology will
also be discussed, with emphasis on the marine and Sonoran
Desert flora and fauna. The course is being offered by
Odessa College on Marine Ecology.
The next program meeting will be a luncheon at the Quality
Inn, Jan. 26, 1999. The program will be broughty by Dr.
Jimmy Braswell, Director of Family Services for Home
Hospice, Odessa. Visitors are welcome.
