LifestyleThursday, December 17, 1998Merry Home and Garden Club has partyThe Merry Home and Garden Club met at the West of the Pecos Museum for their monthly meeting and Annual Christmas party. As part of their Christmas sharing, members took canned goods for the food bank. They also sponsored a Christmas tree at the museum. The meeting was called to order by President Gretchen Luna. The club collect was led by Elizabeth Schmidt. Treasurer Doris Moorman gave a report on Christmas fruitcake sales. She also read communications from former members. After delicious refreshments brought by several members, Christmas cards were exchanged. Pessia named officer of monthOfficer Robert Pessia has been selected as Correctional Officer of the Month for December. Pessia has been employed at the Reeves County Detention Center since May 18, 1998. His job consists of being responsible for the custody and control of all inmates within his duty station and is required to perform other duties which are critical to the security of the institution. He is assigned as the Construction Site Officer where he exhibits an outstanding capability in performing his duties with the construction personnel and other oustide agencies. Pessia is married to Angie Pessia. He is the proud father of two children. "He is a very dedicated, responsible and hard working individual and has been an asset to the Reeves county Detention Center," said RCDC Warden Rudy Franco.
