Jones to get BA degree

Sara G. Jones, of Pecos, will be graduating from the
University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts degree with
majors in English-Literary Studies in December.

She is a 1994 graduate of Balmorhea I.S.D. and the daughter
of Don Jones of Pecos.

Gallego to compete in Dallas event

Jo Gina Lee Gallego, of Saragosa, will be traveling to
Dallas next month to particpate in the 1998 Distinguish
Youth of Texas Scholarship and Recognition Program.

She is a sixth grade student at Balmorhea I.S.D. and the

In Dallas she will be competing for the title of Young Miss

Educational Savings Bond and $250 will be presented to their
school.

The Distinguish Youth of Texas program is not a beauty
pageant, but is an invitational only event designed to
recognize girls who rank high in academics or who have been
recognized publicly for their leadership abilities and
accomplishments.
