Carrillo enters basic training
Army Pvt. Corina G. Carrillo has entered basic military
training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the eight weeks of training, the soldier will study
the Army mission and will receive instruction in drill and
ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military
courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid,
Army history and traditions, and special training in human
Carrillo is the daughter of Carolina J. and Rafael A.
Carrillo of Pecos.
She is a 1997 graduate of Pecos High School.
Ballard named officer of month
Officer Alan Ballard has been selected as Correctional
Officer Of the Month for September.
Ballard has been employed at the Reeves County Detention
Center custody division since Oct. 28, 1996.
He is married to Jessie Ballard and is the proud father of
one girl and three boys.
Ballard's performance during this rating period has been
exceptional in all areas. He is an employee who is dedicated
to the philosophy of the Reeves County Detention Center and
can be depended upon to perform any assignment with the
highest level of competence, according to RCDC Warden Rudy
"Ballard recognizes the importance of a well trained staff.
In this regard, he continuously shares his knowledge and
exerptise with other staff, particularly new employees
whether assigned to custody or other departments," said
Franco. "I have received a number of complimentary comments
regarding Alan's activity in this area," he said.
