Nichols family holds reunion at park


Descendants of Carlos Sr. and Jesus "Chuy" Nichols held a
reunion recently at Maxey Park in Pecos.

About 110 family members from Houston, McAllen, Mission,
Odessa and Pecos gathered for the special occasion.

Special guests were a sister, Diega Hernandez of Pecos and
three nieces, Bonnie Marquez of Pecos, Sarah Hernandez and
Ofelia Rodriguez of Odessa.

The family consists of three sons, Carlos Jr. and Salvador
Nichols of Pecos, Hector Nichols of Odessa and eight
daughters, Yolanda Garza of Mission, Gloria Baca of Pecos,
Nicholasa Lerma, Eva Martinez and Ramona Molina of Odessa,
Elma Vasquez of Pecos, Manuela Nichols of McAllen and Lupe
Nichols of Houston.

The group enjoyed a barbecue luncheon and games.

Carlos Sr. was born in Ruidoso, Tx., Chuy was born in
Balmorhe and the couple were married in 1941 in Balmorhea.
They have lived in Pecos since 1955 and have 89
grandchildren and great-granchildren.
