Little Brittany was born July 7, at 10:37 a.m., at Reeves County Hospital. She weighed eight pounds and 11.6 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Margie and Harvey Orona and Tony and Rosie Navarette. Great grandparents are Tito and Gloria Juarez and Calistro and Cuca Navarette. Great-great grandparents are Jesus and Josefina Gonzales. Paternal grandparents are Maria Elena and Conrado Saldana. Great-grandparents are Frances Rodriguez and Paz Orona. Track members receive honors Six members of the Sul Ross State University track team received All-American Southwest Conference recognition recently. Molly Durkin (1,500 meters, 800 meters) of Simonton and Flo Lopez (100 meter low hurdles) of El Paso were named to the women's all-conference team, while Jeremy Gardner (1,500, 5,000) of Sharon, Conn., represented the Lobos on the men's team. Durkin, Mark Dominguez (800, 1,500) of Balmorhea; Matt Horton (100, 200, relays) of Red Oak; and Brent Turnbough (110 hurdles) of Fort Davis received Academic All-Conference honors. "This group of athletes represented their teams extremely well this past season," said Sul Ross track coach Francis Jones. "Molly was an outstanding all-around athlete and student, and Flo is a hard worker who is very coachable." "Jeremy has been a highly competitive, dedicated distance runner for Sul Ross, and Mark, Matt and Brent are true team players who will do whatever is necessary to be successful, both on the track and in the classroom," Jones said.
