Garza, Gonzales exchange wedding vows

Crystal Joanna Garza and Rafael Gonzales III exchanged
wedding vows at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, in Midland,
at 2 p.m., on May 9, with Father James Bridges officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dora Garza of Midland and
Emelio Garza, Jr. of Stanton.

The groom is the son of Elisa "Peggy" Gonzales of Pecos and
Rafael Gonzales, Jr. of Pecos.

Maid of honor was Martha Berzoza of Midland. Bridesmaids
included Gloria Castillo, Brandi Fichte, Julia Childerson
and Isabel Villareal, all of Midland and friends of the
couple, and Cathy Vasquez of Ft. Worth, cousin of the groom.

Flower girl was Annalicia Moreno, the bride's cousin and
ring bearer was Anthony Lara of Midland cousin of the groom.

The bridesmaids wore maroon silk dresses and the matrons
wore gold silk dresses all made by "Elegant Touch" in
Midland.

Best man for the event was Freddie Ornelas of Barstow, the
groom's cousin. Groomsmen were Louis Garza of Midland,
bride's brother, Rene "Ross" Garza of Midland, bride's
brother, Allan Patton of Midland, a friend, Gabriel Ornelas
of Pecos, cousin to the groom and Andy Lopez of Midland, a
friend.

Ushers were Jeremy Jones, Victor Castillo, Jr., Justin
Overstreet and Natividad Madrid, all of Midland.

Other attendants included Mr. and Mrs. Beto Diaz of Midland
who gave the couple, "arras,"; Mr and Mrs. Robert Moreno of
Midland who provided the lasso and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony
Villalobos of Odessa who gave the couple the Bible.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Emelio Garza,
Jr. She wore a dress by "Demetrios" which was long, white,
with pearls and sequins and had a detachable train. She
carried a bouquet of flowers by Flowerland in Midland. The
women attendants wore gold dresses.

Decorations were by Natalie Lock, cousin of the bride from
Midland, with flowers from Flowerland.

Special music was sung by Diana Gomez and Cathy Martinez
during the church ceremony.

Mariachi music was provided during the reception by Pepe
Franco. Guests enjoyed a meal of asado, brisquet, potato
salad, rice, beans and salad.

A dance was held following the reception and featuring Texas
Latino, at the Crown Royal Club in Midland.

The bride is a 1988 graduate of Midland Lee High School and
Texas Bank Institute in Midland.

He is a 1989 Pecos High School graduate and a 1997 graduate
of San Angelo State University with a degree in biology and
a minor in chemistry.

The couple plan to reside in Kileen, Tx., following a
wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico.

Fuentez ends Navy training


Melissa Fuentez graduated from the US Navy on June 26 in
Great Lakes, Ill.

She is a 1997 graduate of Pecos High School and will be
stationed in Pensacola, Fla.

She is the daughter of Manuel and Helen Fuentez of Pecos and
has a brother, Manuel Jr.

Her grandparents are Rudy and Millie Navarrette of Pecos.
