safe driving habits during the annual Odessa District safety
awards banquet held at the Pecos County Civic Center in Fort
Stockton.

Jose E. Morales, P.E., who heads up the Odessa District,
praised the Balmorhea and Pecos employees for their
commitment to driving safety, handing out safe driving
certificates to the TxDOT drivers.

"Highway safety is at the heart of everything the Texas
Department of Transportation does," said Morales. "We know
that building safe roads and driving safely go hand-in-hand.

"And one of the best ways we can emphasize safe driving on
Texas highways is to set a good example ourselves," he
added. "That's why we salute these employees for
year-after-year of accident-free driving while on the job."

The Texas Department of Transportation's Odessa District
