Bauer plans to graduate from Sul Ross

Brenilda Rodriguez Bauer, of Pecos, will be receiving her
Master of Arts Degree from Sul Ross State University, Alpine
in commencement ceremonies scheduled for Saturday, May 16.

A native of the Republic of Panama, she was awarded her high
school diploma from the Academy of mathematics and commerce
in Panama City in 1971. Following her marriage of Bruce A.
Bauer in Baton Rouge, La., Mrs. Bauer attended both
Louisiana State University and the University of Innsbruck,
Austria before taking a Bachelor of Arts Degree from L.S.U.
in 1984.

After enrolling for additional courses in Education from Sul
Ross, the University of Houston, and Southwest Texas Junior
College, she earned her Texas Teacher Certificate in English
and history.

Bauer and her husband subsequently moved to Pecos, where she
taught bilingual second grade at Austin Elementary in 1993
and English and history at Crockett Middle School and Pecos
High School in 1994.

Resigning her teaching position in 1995, she enrolled in the
Graduate School of Sul Ross, where she attained a 3.6 grade
point average before being nominated to Who's who in
American Colleges and Universities in 1996.

Following the successful completion of her comprehensive
examination for the degree of Master of Arts with a major in
history and a minor in English last March, she is now
applying for a teaching position once again in Pecos.

She hopes to pick up where she left off three years ago.
