received a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies at
the University of Texas El Paso.

She is currently a title/support teacher in El Paso.

Mellard completes program

Twenty-one students have successfully completed Clarendon
College's Ranch and Feedlot Operations Program, according to
RFO Director Jerry Gage, including one Balmorhea resident.

Damon K. Mellard, of Balmorhea, was one of the members of
the class of 1998.

Graduation ceremonies were held April 24 in the Harned
Sisters Fine Arts Auditorium at Clarendon College. Mr. Neal
Odom with the McLean Feedyard in McLean was the featured
speaker.

Established in 1974, the CC Ranch and Feedlot Operations
Program allows students who are interested in ranch or
feedlot-related careers to gain new knowledge and technical
skills to meet the needs of today's complex agricultural
problems. RFO students must complete academic coursework, as
well as, extensive field work conducted on ranched and
feedyards. It is not unusual for an RFO graduate to have
logged 8,000 miles across Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and
other states visiting top ranches, feedyards and
agricultural centers.

A public community college, Clarendon College is located in
Clarendon, Tx. The college was founded in 1898 and will
begin celebrating its Centennial Birthday on Sept. 5.
Clarendon College offers 35 majors and five workforce
education programs through campuses in Clarendon, Pampa,
Wellington, Childress and Shamrock.

For more information regarding the RFO program, contact
Jerry Gage, RFO Director, or Laban Tubbs, RFO Instructor at
