Sisneros, Esparza plan Valentine's wedding

Andres and Jane Sisneros, of Midland, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Diana G. Sisneros to Amando Esparza III.

The groom to be is the son of Amando Esparza Jr. and Yolanda Esparza of Odessa.

The couple plan to wed at 7 p.m., Feb. 14, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Midland.

Ornelas joins Army program

Joseph M. Ornelas has joined the United States Army under the Delayed Entry Program at the U.S. Army Recruiting Station, Odessa.

The program gives young men and women the opportunity to delay entering active duty for up to one year.

The enlistment gives the new soldier the option to learn a new skill, travel and become eligible to receive as much as $40,000 toward a college education. After completion of basic training, soldiers receive advanced individual training in their career specialty.

By enlisting, he qualified for a $4,000 bonus.

Ornelas, a 1995 graduate of Pecos High School, will report to Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C., for basic training on Feb. 11.

He is the son of Felipa G. and Ramon Ornelas of Pecos.
