Oglesbys to celebrate golden anniversary

Bill and Maxine Oglesby of Pecos will celebrate their golden
wedding anniversary with a reception on Jan. 31.

Friends of the family are invited to attend the reception,
from 2 to 4 p.m., that Saturday at First Christian Church,
423 S. Elm St.

Maxine Lyle and William Robert Oglesby were married on Jan.
30, 1948, at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church in Pecos. The
Rev. John Kittenger officiated the ceremonies. The cake
served at the wedding reception was made by Bill's mother,
Helen Oglesby, who still lives in Pecos.

The church building that at the time was Saint Mark's
Episcopal of Pecos was later moved to Fort Stockton and is
still serving as the Episcopal church there. Two of the
Oglesby's children were married in the building that is
currently Saint Mark's of Pecos.

Maxine remains active in Saint Mark's Episcopal Church,
while Bill is an active member of First Christian Church.

The Oglesbys have three children: William Henry Oglesby and
Mary Oglesby Evans, both of Pecos, and Mike Oglesby of
Ozona. They have five grandchildren.

The children and their families are proud to observe the
Oglesby's 50th wedding anniversary. They cordially invite
friends of the couple to help celebrate the occasion at the
upcoming reception.
