Munoz celebrates first birthday

Uvaldo Acosta Munoz celebrated his first birthday with a party held in his honor at the Community Center, located on Oak Street, on Sunday, Dec. 21.

Theme for the event was "Tweety" from Looney Tunes characters.

The party was given by his parents Uvaldo and Maria Elena Acosta Munoz.

Paternal grandparents are Damiana and Manuel Munoz.

Maternal grandparents are Elena and Candelario Acosta.

OC offers courses in area cities

Registration for Odessa College classes in Pyote, Kermit, Pecos, Wink and Monahans has been scheduled.

Registration for the 11 classes in Pecos will be held 3:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at Pecos High School.

Tuesday, Jan. 6, students registering for any of the five classes in Wink may sign up from 3:30-7:30 p.m. at Wink High School.

Students planning to register for any of 21 classes in Pyote, two classes in Kermit or two classes in Monahans may do so 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Monahans Hospital Annex. Placement testing will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Classes being taught in Pecos are Introduction to Computer Systems, American National Government, Information Processing, Personnel and Human Relations, College Algebra, Introduction to Computer Systems, Composition and Literature, U.S. History From 1877, Discipline and Classroom Management, Introduction to Management and Golf.

Wink classes are American National Government, Personnel and Human Relations, College Algebra, Introduction to Computer Systems and U.S. History From 1877.

Classes being offered in Pyote are Business Law I, Composition and Rhetoric, Basic English, College Algebra, Composition and Literature, U.S. History From 1877, Introductory Algebra, Introduction to Psychology, College Reading, Advanced College Reading, Survey of American Literature II, Intermediate Algebra, Child Psychology, Principal of Economics II (Micro), American National Government, Issues in Chemical Dependency, Structures of College Math I, Art Appreciation, Introduction to Management, Music Appreciation and Jogging/Walking.

Introduction to Computer Systems and Introduction to Management are the classes scheduled for Kermit.

The classes taught in Monahans will be two vocational nursing classes that require prior admission.

Proof of Texas residency for 12 consecutive months prior to enrollment is required at registration to qualify for Texas resident fees.

All transfer students must furnish an official transcript and TASP scores.

For more information, call Odessa College at (915) 335-6412. The college will close for the holidays, and offices will reopen Jan. 5.
