Teams from Pecos, Big Spring, Andrews, Seminole, Fort Stockton, Abilene
Wylie, and Monahans went out to Fort Stockton to compete in the District
Swimming and Diving Meet.
The ladies came out smelling like roses, breaking a seven year dry spell
to bring home the district swimming championship. Each of the eight
girls on the team scored in their event or relay.
In addition to their district championship, the girls received another
honor at the meet. Swimmer Sandra Meeks was voted MVP Woman Athlete of
the Year, by the coach of the district four.
The Monahans boys ran into some bad luck. The team of five boys made an
outstanding effort at the meet. The team finished with 29 points.
The swimmers will compete in the Regional Swim Meet on Feb. 7-8.

100 backstroke first place Candice Teague, fifth place Kara Teague.
100 breaststroke second place Lindsay Fredericks.
400 freestyle relay first place Monahans, Candice Teague, Jennifer
Robinson, Kara Teague, Sandra Meeks.
