Salas, Allgood exchange wedding vows in Lafayette

Sonya Salas became the bride of Gerald Allgood Jr. May 24, 2003, in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette during an 11 a.m. ceremony and nuptial Mass.

The bride is the daughter of Deborah and Roy Salas of Lafayette. Hallie and Jerry Allgood of Lafayette are the parents of the groom.

Rachel Bangs and Jessica Vincent read the Scriptures. Bringing up the offertory gifts were Holly and Cassidy Sims.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a one-piece matte satin white and silver wedding gown with beaded spaghetti straps and a chapel train. To complete her ensemble, she chose a two-tier elbow length veil and satin trim attached to a flowered tiara.

Emilia Salas served as her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Janet Anderson, Kaci Beaullieu, Susan Carloss, Tisha Meza and Ann Rivera. Samantha Leger served as flower girl.

Serving as best man was Joey Allgood, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jason Credeur, Toby Henry, Randy Laiche, David Powell. Ring bearer was Corey Luneau, son of the groom.

Escorting guests to their seats were Beau Beaullieu and James Salas, brother-in-law of the bride.

A reception was held at Gentry's.

Following a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple will make their home in Lafayette.
