Tech students earn degrees
Spring commencement at Texas Tech University saw more than 1,900 students
awarded degrees. Commencement ceremonies took place May 17 in the United
Spirit Arena on campus.
About 5,000 Texas Tech University students made either the President's
List or the Dean's List for the Spring 2003 semester. To be on the President's
List or the Dean's List, a student must have taken 12 quality hours during
the semester and maintained either a 4.0 or a 3.5-3.9 grade point average,
respectively.
Students from Pecos who received a degree during commencement exercises
include: Jeffrey Scott Brownlee, a Bachelor of Business Administration degree
and John Ethan Gallego, who earned a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts.
Pecos student who made the Dean's list was Lindsay Maureen Olibas, a
senior, English major.
Harrison named to honor's list
West Texas A&M University has named nearly 1,200 students to honor
lists for the spring 2003 semester. Of that total, 300 were named to the
President's List and 899 students were named to the Dean's List.
Students named to the President's List must have a grade point average
(GPA) of 3.85 or better on a 4.0 scale and carry a minimum class load of
12 undergraduate hours.
Those named to the Dean's List must have a GPA between 3.25 and 3.85
and carry a minimum of 12 undergraduate hours.
Area students receiving honors: Brandi K. Harrison, a senior majoring
in Pre-Vet medicine.
