Golden Girl Nominee
Maritza Sandoval
Maritza Sandoval is the 17-year-old daughter of Maria and George Villanueva.
She is being sponsored by the Carrasco Law Firm, Linda Clark-Reeves County
Treasurer and Colt Chevrolet GM.
Miss Sandoval is a member of the Lady Eagle volleyball team; Mighty Eagle
Band; Mariachi Band; National Honor Society; 4-H Club; was named to Who's
Who Among American High School Students; First Team All-District in volleyball
(2002-2003); Junior Varsity softball (freshman year 2000-2001) and the Spanish
Club (freshman year 2000-2001).
Following high school graduation, she is considering attending the University
of Texas at San Antonio or Angelo State University to major in pre-medicine.
"And hopefully become a pediatrician," said Miss Sandoval.
She enjoys paintballing, hanging out with her friends, spending time
with her family and boyfriend and reading.
"I believe you can do all things through Christ and that my family and
my education are two of my top priorities," said Miss Sandoval.
Carrasco celebrates fifth birthday
Jonathan Michael Carrasco celebrated his fifth birthday on June 19, with
a family dinner held in his honor.
A Spiderman theme party was held recently in his honor at his residence.
Friends and family members enjoyed a water balloon fight and jumped on a
Spiderman jumping balloon.
He is the son of Monica and Esequiel Carrasco Jr.
Maternal grandparents are Pascual and Delma Sanchez of Midland.
Paternal grandparents are Isidra and Esequiel Carrasco of Pecos.
