Mendozas celebate 57th anniversary
PECOS, Feb. 11, 2003 - Marcos and Georgia Mendoza celebrate 57 years of marriage
today, Feb. 11.
They were married Feb. 11, 1946, in Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church.
The couple have 11 children including five daughters, Teresa
Talamantes, Mary Lou Salcido and Irma Gutierrez of Pecos, Velma Collaso of Fort
Sumner, N.M. and Diana Crawford of Houston. Six sons, Robert, Poncho,
Benjie Mendoza of Pecos, Marcos Mendoza, Jr. of Fort Stockton, Pilo Mendoza
of of Azusu, Calif and Fidel Mendoza of San Angelo.
They have 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Corralez deployed to Sultan Air Base
Air Force Staff Sgt. Christopher P. Corralez has deployed to Prince
Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, to support the mission of Operation
The operation is a multinational coalition force that conducts
flying missions to ensure and enforce Iraq's compliance with the United
Nations (UN) Security Council resolutions enacted after the end of the Persian
Gulf War in 1991. The resolutions prohibit Iraqi military flights over the
no-fly zone and ground troop movements through the no-drive zone in the
southern half of Iraq.
Corralez is an armament weapons systems technician (craftsman)
with the 363rd Equipment Maintenance Squadron.
He is the son of Paul R. Corralez of Pecos and Betty E. Florez of
His wife, Adelina, is the daughter of Mario Sanchez and Connie Ruiz
The staff sergeant graduated in 1995 from Pecos High School,
and received an associates degree in 2001 from the Community College of
the Air Force.
