Eisenwine to celebrate 90th birthday

Annevelyn Roberson Eisenwine, a long-time resident of Pecos, will be celebrating her 90th birthday later this month. She was born on November 27, 1912 to Hugh and Blanche Roberson, a pioneer family in the Pecos area. In 1928 she graduated from Pecos High School, and in 1932 she was crowned first queen of the Pecos Rodeo. She married Norman A. Eisenwine on March 18, 1933.

They had five children, Louis Earl Eisenwine and Norma Ann Payne, both of Ennis; Carolyn Carson of Burleson; Marilyn Eisenwine of San Angelo; and James Eisenwine of Carrollton. Annevelyn was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, the Merry Wives Club, and the Twentieth Century Club, of which her mother was a founding member.

She also taught square dancing lessons to adults and children in Pecos for many years. In 1997, she and Norman sold their home at 1221 S. Plum and moved to Ennis, Texas, to be near their children. Although Norman passed away in December of 2001, she still enjoys her children and their families, including 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Please address cards and letters to:
