Salcido selected as officer of the month
Officer Ruben Salcido has been selected as Correctional Officer of the
Month at the Reeves County Detention Center I for October.
Officer Salcido is a lifetime resident of Pecos and is married to Lisa
Salcido and has three children, Jason, who is 21, Phillip, 17 and Eric who
is 12.
He is a graduate of Pecos High School and his hobbies include playing
softball, and just spending time with his family. His work experience includes
working for Freeport Sulphur Company for 23 years and has also worked at
RCDC for three years.
Officer Salcido began his employment with Reeves County Detention Center
on Aug. 5, 1999 and was promoted to Correctional Officer III on March 31,
2001. He has worked all pertinent posts and is dedicated to the operation
of the Reeves County Detention Center.
"Officer Salcido willingly accepts additional responsibilities and accomplishes
all assigned tasks in minimal time with exceptional results," said RCDC Warden
Rudy Franco.
As a Correctional Officer, his primary responsibility is to maintain security
and control of the institution. "He has continuously executed this responsibility
in the highest manner and always takes pride in his job as a correctional
officer at the Reeves County Detention Center," said Franco. "Officer Salcido
has on several occasions been assigned to Acting Lieutenant on the both day
shift and evening shift," he said.
Officer Salcido is also a member of the Disturbance Control Team.
The Reeves County Detention Center is proud to recognize Officer Salcido
as Correctional Officer of the Month.
"His high standards, quality of work performance, and self-motivation
have earned him this honor," said Franco. "It is a pleasure to be associated
with an individual such as Officer Salcido who exhibits such professionalism.
We wish him continued success in his career with the Reeves County
Detention Center," he said.
