Simon and Celia Muela announce the approaching marriage of their daughter Lorena Muela to David Dominguez, son of Guillermo and Virginia Dominguez.

The ceremony will take place on Sept. 7, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church.

The bride to be is a graduate of Socorro High School and is currently employed by Professional Pharmacy.

The future groom is a graduate of Pecos High School and employed by Trans Pecos Foods.

Graham earns gold star at West Point

Cadet Randall Tye Graham, son of Randy and Leslie Graham of Pecos, has been awarded the gold star at the U.S. Military Academy for the spring semester.

The five-pointed gold star is awarded to distinguished cadets in each class who have achieved an Academic Performance Score (APS) equaling or greater than 3.67. They must have carried a full academic load (minimum of five academic courses per term), and have had no failing grades.

Graham graduated from Pecos High School in 1999. He is concentrating his studies in European history and environmental engineering and plans to graduate from West Point in 2003. Graham will be commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Founded on March 16, 1802, the academy celebrates its Bicentennial this year.

The mission of the U.S. Military Academy is to educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country; professional growth throughout a career as an officer in the United States Army; and a lifetime of selfless service to the Nation.
