Reynolds celebrate 60th wedding anniversary
Dr. Elvia and Norma Gene Reynolds celebrated 60 years of marriage on Aug.
4, 2002. They enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas with their family.
Elvia Reynolds married Norma Gene Whitehead at the Texas-Arkansas state-line
in Texarkana, Arkansas. The church building was in Texas; however, their
marriage license was issued in Arkansas so they had an "outside wedding"
just a few feet North of the state line.
Elvia served in the Army in World War II, fighting in Germany and France.
After the war, Elvia attended college and dental school and he and Norma
Gene moved to Pecos and he started his dental practice in 1954.
Norma Gene co-owned and operated Norma Jeans Children Store in Pecos for
many years. The continue to reside in Pecos.
They have three children, Gayle Britt, Danny Reynolds and Randy Reynolds,
eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Eagle cheerleaders plan community contest
Pecos Eagle Cheerleaders will sponsor, "Paint the Town Purple," a community
wide contest, which will start the week of Sept. 2-6.
First, second and third place winners will receive a prize.
Sign-up deadline is Aug. 30.
Call 447-7233 or 447-7222 to enter and all decorations must be ready by
Sept. 4.
