Hamilton, Zachry announce wedding plans
Jack and Beverly Hamilton are pleased to announce and bless
the engagement of their son, Ryan Craig Hamilton, to Tiffani Ann Zachry,
daughter of Tommy and Jaydine Zachry of San Antonio.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Freeland
and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Zachry, all of Midland. The prospective groom is
the grandson of Elsie Kipp of Giddings and the late Eddie Kipp, Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Hamilton of Pecos and the late Leta Dell Witte.
The groom is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. He is employed as a
Production Engineer with Anadarko Petroleum in Midland. His fiancé is attending
Texas Tech HSC School of Nursing and will graduate in August with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Nursing.
The couple plans a September 28, wedding at the Church of the Rock
in San Antonio.
OC schedules registration dates
Registration for Odessa College's Fall semester will be Wednesday
and Thursday, Aug. 21-22, with classes beginning Wed., Aug. 28.
New and returning students who did not pre-register will start
the registration process at the tent-covered area on the north side of the
Student Union Building.
Students with last names beginning M-Z register 8:30 a.m.-7:30 a.m.,
Aug. 21. Students with last names beginning A-L register 8:30 a.m.-7:30 a.m.,
Aug. 22.
To speed up the registration process, new students are urged to submit
an application for admission prior to registration. Applications are available
in the OC catalog and from the OC Admissions Office and Web site.
Students may arrange to pay tuition with a short-term loan,
allowing scheduled payments throughout the semester. Loans include a $20 fee
and require a 10 percent down payment.
Students who have completed at least 15 semester hours at OC may
apply for federal loans. Scholarships, state and federal grants, and college
work-study also are available. Students are encouraged to apply early for
these programs. Funds for some programs do not become available until later in
the semester.
Proof of Texas residency for 12 consecutive months prior to enrollment
is required at registration to qualify for Texas resident tuition rates.
New students must furnish an official transcript and may be required
to provide TASP scores depending on course requirements. All transfer
students must furnish an official transcript and TASP scores.

Garage and Barbecue sale planned
A garage sale and barbecue plate sale will be held beginning at
8 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Reeves County Sheriff's Posse Barn.
Good food and lots of miscellaneous items will be for sale.
Everyone is invited to come out and browse.
Proceeds will benefit the Reeves County Sheriff's Explorer Post #600.
