Garcia named Officer of the Month
Officer Joel Garcia has been selected as Correctional Officer of the Month
for August at the Reeves County Detention Center I.
Officer Garcia has been living in Pecos all his life and graduated from
Pecos High School in May 2000.
His hobbies include playing various sports such as softball and flag football.
Officer Garcia began his employment with the Reeves County Detention Center
in July 2000, and was promoted in July 2002, to Correctional Officer III.
He has worked all pertinent posts and is dedicated to the operation of
the Reeves County Detention Center.
Garcia willingly accepts additional responsibilities and accomplishes
all assigned tasks in minimal time with exceptional results, according to
RCDC Warden Rudy Franco.
"Officer Garcia is motivated and takes time to involve himself in other
assignments outside of his regular duties," said Franco.
In June 2001, Officer Garcia attended the 9mm Course required for transportation
of inmates and is now one of the newest members of the Reeves County Transportation
Crew. In June 2002, Garcia was selected as part of the (DCT), Disturbance
Control Team for the institution.
As a Correctional Officer, his primary responsibility is to maintain security
and control of the institution. "He has continuously executed this responsibility
in the highest manner and always takes pride in his job as a correctional
officer at the RCDC," said Franco.
The Reeves County Detention Center is proud to recognize Officer Garcia
as Correctional Officer of the Month.
"His high standards, quality of work performance, and self-motivation
have earned him this honor," said Franco. "It is a pleasure to be associated
with an individual such as Garcia who exhibits such professionalism," he
said.
"We wish him continued success in his career with the Reeves County
Detention Center," said Franco.
