Golden Girl Nominee
GeNelle Willis
GeNelle Elizabeth Willis is the 17-year-old daughter of Glenda and Greer
Willis.
She is being sponsored by Twentieth Century Club, Water Works/AA Chemical
and Supply and Bill Allen Insurance.
Miss Willis was named to All-Region Band 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002;
All-Area Band 2000-2001, 2001-2002; State Solo and Ensemble Contest qualifier,
2001-2002; Regional UIL Meet Qualifier in speech 2000-2001, 2001-2002. She
was a member of the Student Council; Latin Club; UIL Academics; Band, Cheerleading;
One-Act Play and National Honor Society.
Following high school graduation, she plans to attend college and earn
a degree in elementary education, so that she can teach first graders.
"I enjoy reading, playing the piano and flute and spending time with my
family," said Miss Willis.
She plays the piano for Mission Friends, an activity for pre-school aged
children at the First Baptist Church. "I am also active in Acteens and my
church youth group," said Miss Willis.
"Set goals for yourself and work hard to achieve them, you will be rewarded
if you do," said Miss Willis.
Fick, Loveless announce September wedding plans
Carolyn and Gary Oden of Pecos and B.E. and Patti Fick of Peoria, Ill.,
announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jennifer
Hollie Fick to Miles Bartlett Loveless.
The groom to be is the son of Kitty and Jimmy Loveless of Ft. Worth. He
graduated from Trinity Valley School in 1996, Texas Christian University
in 2000 and is currently employed with Lord Abbett Investment Management
Firm, Internal Wholesale.
The future bride is a 1996 graduate of Trinity Valley School in 1996,
the University of Texas at Austin in 2000 and is currently employed at Deloitte
and Touche Writer.
The two plan to wed at on Sept. 28, at University Christian Church. A
reception will be held following the wedding ceremony at the Cowgirl Hall
of Fame in Ft. Worth. The reception will be the first wedding reception ever
held at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame.
Fundraiser planned for Saturday
A Brisket Plate Sale will be held Saturday, June 22, at Iglesia Emmanuel,
512 W. 3rd Street.
The fundraiser will be held to benefit Efren Rodriguez and help with medical
expenses.
Plates will be $4.50 and to order call 445-2410.
