Belles makes Dean's List

sandra L. Belles, of Pecos, has been named to Sul Ross  State University's Dean's Honor List for the Spring Semester.

Criteria for selection include enrolling as an undergraduate student in Sul Ross State University for at least 12 semester hours and achieving a grade point average of at least 3.3 during the semester.

Belles had a 3.333 grade point average and has made the Dean's List for two successive semester.

She is the daughter of Suzi Belles and the late Kendall Belles of Pecos.

Salcido recognized by USAA honor roll

The United States Achievement Academy announced that John Paul Salcido, of Pecos, has been recognized for academic achievement as a United States National Honor Roll Award winner.

Salcido, who attends Crockett Middle School, will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook, which is published nationally.

"Recognizing and supporting our youth is more important than ever before in America's history. Certainly, United States Achievement winners should be congratulated and appreciated for their dedication to excellence and achievement," said Dr. George Stevens, Executive Director of the United States Achievement Academy.

The USAA National Honor Roll Awards provide honor roll students with many benefits and services and is a great tribute to a student's dedication, talent and ability.

Salcido is the son of John and Rosie Salcido of Pecos. Grandparents are the late Pablo and Trini Rivera of Pecos and Juan and Adela Salcido of Pecos.

Library sponsors amnesty days

The Reeves County Library will sponsor amnesty days from June until August.

No fines will be charged for overdue books, videos, etc., no matter how long they have been overdue.

No questions will be asked, according to Reeves County Librarian Sally Perry.
