Pageant seeks contestants
The Mrs. Texas America Pageant has issued a call for candidates to compete
for the title of Mrs. Texas America 2002. There have been hundreds of inquiries
from all over the state, but the city of Pecos is not yet represented.
The Mrs. America Pageant is the longest running pageant for married
women in the country. In 26 years, the purpose of the Mrs. America Pageant
has remained consistent: to celebrate the beauty of America's married woman.
Mrs. Texas contestants do not necessarily fit any particular mold. They
represent an incredible variety of backgrounds, lifestyles, personal interests,
and range in age from 18 to 72 years.
The Mrs. Texas Pageant will take place June 7-9, at the beautiful Crown
Plaza Brookhollow Hotel in Houston. The contestants will compete in evening
gown, swimsuit and personal interview. Mrs. Texas America 2002 will go
on to participate in the nationally-televised Mrs. America Pageant to be
held in Honolulu, Hawaii in September.
Women interested in competing for the title of Mrs. Texas America 2002
are encouraged to contact Bonnie Productions at 480-563-4216, or visit
their website at www.mrs.texasamerica.net.
