Mattas announce birth of son
Jaime and Lourdes Matta, of El Paso, proudly announce the birth of their
son, Jaime Matta III.
Jaime was born on Nov. 16, 2001, at 5:10 p.m., in Providence Hospital
in El Paso.
He weighed six pounds and 15 ounces.
Welcoming him home is his sister Hope Marie Matta of El Paso.
Paternal grandparents are Juanita Matta of Pecos and the late Pablo Matta.
Maternal grandparents are the late Jesus Rodriguez, Sr. and Carmen Rodriguez
of El Paso.
His Godparents are his aunt and uncle, Norma Rodriguez of Pecos and Tom
Matta of Dallas. Also John and Rita Moreno of El Paso.
Sotelo named to Dean's list
Azeneth Sotelo, an Eastern New Mexico University student from Pecos, is
among the 471 students on the 2001 fall semester Dean's Honor Roll.
To be eligible for the Dean's Honor Roll students must complete a minimum
of 15 hours for the semester and maintain a 3.25 GPA.
ENMU opened in 1934 and today has an enrollment of approximately 3,500
on its main campus in Portales.
Eastern, which also has a branch campus in Roswell and an instructional
center in Ruidoso, offers 60 undergraduate and graduate programs.
Sotelo is majoring in elementary education.
Enchilada plate sale planned
An Enchilada Plate Sale will be held from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., Friday,
Feb. 1, at St. Catherine Hall.
Plates will cost $4 and for orders call 425-3685 or 448-5985.
The fundraiser will benefit the youth attending Conference in El Paso.
