Pretty baby contest winners announced

Winners of the Pretty Baby Contest which was held in conjunction with the Reeves County Fall Fair were announced recently.

The yearly event is sponsored by the Women's Division of the Pecos Area Chamber of Commerce and included 44 entries.

This year's winners are first place, Robert Colby Ward, 10 months old, son of Lee and Merrie Ward. He received a $100 Savings Bond.

Second place went to Brennah Mackinzie Windham, nine months old and the daughter of Keith and Zane Windham. She received a $50 Savings Bond.

Anyssa Gene Lyles, 16 months old and the daughter of Robert and Rosa Lyles won third place. She received a $30 gift certificate compliments of Desiree's Boutique.

Fourth place was awarded to Danielle Arredondo. She is eight months old and the daughter of Adam and JoAnn Arredondo. She won a $25 gift certificate compliments of La Tienda.

E.J. Salcido Jr. took home fifth place. He is 12 months old and the son of Eric and Ana Salcido. He was awarded a $20 gift certificate compliments of Wal-Mart.

Winners will be contacted to receive their prizes, or they can call Laura Briggs at 445-5155.

"We want to thank all the pretty baby entries at the 2001 Reeves County Fall Fair," said Briggs. "The contest was a big success," she said.

The money raised at the yearly event goes towards projects such as the Golden Girl Revue and Little Miss Cantaloupe Pageant. "We also support the Pecos Fire Department and the EMS," said Briggs.

The Women's Division organizes the Mother Goose and Friends Halloween Parade and the Christmas Lighting Contest.

"We strive to support and serve our community's business, civic and cultural interests," said Briggs.
