New program helps students with college
Recent high school graduates seeking financial aid for college have a
new option known as the TEXAS Grant Program, which helps Texas students attend
public and private nonprofit institutions of higher education in Texas.
The TEXAS (Toward Excellence, Access and Success) Grant Program, created

services director Tanya Hughes. "The application process is easy, and we
want to encourage students to investigate this beneficial program."

application, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and meet
eligibility criteria. Once approved, students become eligible for funds that
can be applied to the current fall semester retroactively as well as for
Hughes added that other state and federal programs also are available.
"For students with financial concerns, OC student financial services has
a number of solutions to help," said Hughes. "Students simply need to take
