OC sponsors photography workshop
The Odessa College Visiting Artist Series will present a photography workshop,
"Preparing Your Photographic Work for Entry Into Competitions," 7 p.m., Thursday,
Aug. 30, in Sedate Hall, Room 202.
The free workshop is open to the public and hosted by D. Clarke Evans,
president of the Texas Photographic Society and photographer for the San
Antonio Spurs basketball team. He is a graduate of the Brooks Institute of
Photography in Santa Barbara, Calif., and has been a commercial photographer
since 1985.
Seminar topics will include the juror's statement, preparing a cohesive
body of work, and slide labeling, presentation, packaging and shipping. Evans
also will present examples and briefly discuss the presentation of finished
work.

Exhibition now featured in Odessa
The Options Gallery in the Odessa College Learning Resources Center is
hosting the 9th Annual Governor's Exhibition sponsored by the
Texas Photographic Society, now until Sept. 28.
The exhibit, juried by Anthony Bannon, director of the George Eastman
House International Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester, N.Y., features
37 color, digital and black and white images.
The LRC is open 7:45 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 7:45 a.m.-5
p.m., Friday and 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
